UPDATE: Tuesday, January 27, 2026

It is good to see the sunshine and begin thawing out, but with below-freezing temperatures in the forecast again tonight, icy roads and walkways continue to make it unsafe for our students and staff to return.

That means Bossier Schools will remain CLOSED Wednesday, January 28.

It is our intent to reopen school Thursday, but a final decision will not be determined until 4 p.m. Wednesday, after a thorough assessment can be made following afternoon heating and melt-off.

We appreciate everyone’s continued support and will update you again at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Stay warm and safe!

UPDATE: Sunday, January 25, 2026

It looks like those snow dances worked a little too well!

Wintry conditions and an Extreme Cold Warning have turned roadways into ice rinks, making it unsafe for travel and school operations. That means NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27.

Bossier Schools will continue to work closely with emergency management agencies to make the most informed decisions about when schools can reopen and we will have another update at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

We thank our families for their continued support and hope everyone is staying warm and safe.
