Lifewater Church is a church plant that started public worship gatherings on September 9, 2012. The Lifewater family gathers for worship on Sunday mornings for two gatherings at 9:30 a.m. and gathers as Missional Communities during the week in homes all across the city. This week we were reminded, through the story of Cain and Abel (Gen. 4:1-8), that sin never stays small when left unattended. We must master it before it masters us!

In Genesis 3:20-24, we see a shift in Adam and Eve's story. First, we see Adam shift to view the world (and his wife) through the lens of faith in what God had spoken. This becomes clear when he names her Eve, meaning "life" or "mother of all living," according to what The Lord had declared rather than "rebel" or "temptress" according to what had just occurred.

Next, we see The Lord cover Adam and Eve with garments of skin, a much more substantial covering than the loin cloths they had used to cover themselves. In the same way, God's covering is far more sufficient than anything we can create on our own. This is why we needed a way back into God's Presence after The Fall...and the way back has been made. All requirements and obstacles have been fulfilled in Jesus!

This week, Pastor McCasland walked us through the aftermath of the Fall. As we look at Genesis 3:8=-19, we see God's goodness even in the consequences of sin that Adam and Eve received...they themselves point to our need for a Savior and the freedom we are offered in Christ, even though we don't deserve it!

We had such an amazing time at our “Breakfast & Breathe” women’s event last weekend. We started with a liturgy for exercise, followed by gentle stretching and breath work. Then we spent time in fellowship, ate the delicious food everyone brought, and listened to a meaningful testimony shared by Lindsay Forehand. It was a great morning of slowing down, thanking God for the ability to move our bodies, and spending time encouraging one another. Thanks to all who participated!

On this Mother's Day we had the privilege of welcoming a guest speaker, Mr. Jerry Masters, retired pastor and covenant member of Lifewater Church. Ladies of all ages, us in the Lifewater Fellowship Hall THIS Saturday, May 9 at 10 am for our Breakfast & Breathe event. We will begin with a gentle morning stretch led by Alex Stepp (Certified Group Fitness Instructor), then enjoy breakfast and coffee together. We hope to see you there!

Young Adults (20s-30s), our next monthly gathering is tomorrow, May 7! Meet us at the church at 6 pm for some Raising Cane's, fellowship, and a continuation of our discussion on the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith. This month we'll be talking about the doctrine of sin. You don't want to miss this!
