The evils of our world were played out on the national scene today when there was an attempt to assassinate former president, Donald J Trump. Regardless of your political beliefs or philosophies, we need a healing in our land. I call upon our church family to pray not only for Mr. Trump, but for our nation.

This is !
Gayla Davidson is finally home from the hospital. After being diagnosed in Feb of 2019 with stage 4 lung and brain cancer followed by radiation and biopsies, 3 and a half years later she's diagnosed with COVID. Family thought her body was ready to give out. But this past weekend Gayla was released from the hospital. She gives thanks to God and the amazing doctors and nurses at Willis Knighton Health System.

Today is the anniversary of four major storms that hit south Louisiana…Katrina, Gustav, Isaac and last year’s Ida.

Many lost everything and many are still trying to recover.

Today, we pray for God’s provision and divine help in the time of trouble. We grieve and mourn for those still feeling the aftermath.

May the Lord restore all that has been lost. May we all pause and give thanks for what we do have.

Storms come and go. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is faithful. He is good.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM PASTOR KIRK

After a long and courageous fight against cancer, Laura passed away peacefully last night with Bradley, Lauren, and me by her side. Though our hearts are breaking, we are grateful for the many joyful years we had with Laura and that she is now eternally healed and no longer suffering.

I am reminded of the words of an old hymn, “What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon his face, the one who saved me by his grace. When he takes me by the hand and leads me through the Promised Land. What a day, glorious day that will be.” Those words mean a little bit more to us today and give us hope knowing that one day soon we will be reunited with Laura in Heaven.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Know that we feel your outpouring of love and are so thankful to have such a supportive and loving group of friends and church family.

We love you so very much,

Pastor Kirk
