One of the biggest barriers between parents and their prodigal child is not always the past itself, but the weight of guilt carried long after it.

Parental guilt can quietly convince you that you have failed as a parent but that is what the enemy wants. Over time, that belief causes us to forget that all of us are sinners, even our children. We are not held to the sins of our children and cannot control their actions.

But God can redeem prodigals just has He has redeemed us. We need to start letting go of our guilt as parents and instead lead on the unbreakable faith and love of Christ. Only then, can we begin to heal and begin restoring our relationship with our children.
