Children & Youth Sport Leaders & Volunteers,

Greetings to you and your teams. My name is Mateo Mamea, and I would like to say, "thank you," for the programming and development you have offered to all the local children & youth both in the past, currently, and into the future. Playing sports is very impactful for a young person growing up. It does more than fill up our day; sports exercises critical learning processes that help both emotionally and physically. Sports develop leadership, teamwork, goal-setting, and push us to our full potential and beyond. We gain mentors and friendships that last a lifetime with memories of celebrations and of loss, learning to grow together as a community.

That being said, the purpose of this email is to come together and discuss whether more support is needed in various sports programming. Several years ago, there was a "Booster" type group that helped coordinate funds for team needs in the community. I would like to schedule an informal meeting of the various coaches, parents, and leaders in the Borrego athletic community. This meeting would be to help give voice to the current & future needs.

If you could respond to this email or share it with others in the community who are also active in Borrego athletics, it would help to determine a meeting date.

Ultimately, this group would help coordinate the needs of various teams or programs, even if just through a phone/email list. Beyond that this could be an opportunity to bring funding to upgrade the fields, equipment, and gear for the different sports.
