“…Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
— Acts 16:30 (KJV)

That question asked by the Philippian jailer is still the greatest question a soul can ask. In a world filled with fear, uncertainty, sorrow, and sin, there is still only one true hope, and that hope is found in Jesus Christ.

The answer given in the next verse remains just as powerful today as it was that night in the prison:
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” — Acts 16:31

Our salvation is not purchased by our goodness, our works, or our worthiness, but by the sacrifice, mercy, and grace of Christ alone. What we could never accomplish ourselves, He accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection.

May we never grow tired of hearing the sweet old gospel story. It is still the sweetest message ever told to fallen man. Pray for us this week as we try to lift up Christ and give thanks for so great a salvation.

May the Lord Bless you is our prayer..

“How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”— Psalm 133:1

As we prepare for one final service this morning, my heart is full of gratitude for what the Lord has allowed us to experience together during our Homecoming Meeting at Borger Primitive Baptist Church. This meeting has been going on faithfully since 1941, and it’s truly been an honor to moderate and host this meeting for the last 25 years as pastor.
Over the course of this weekend, the messages that have been preached have continually pointed us back to Christ — reminding us that true worship is not about numbers or personalities, but about seeing Jesus. We have been reminded to walk by faith, to rest in the finished work of Christ, to seek the Kingdom of God within, and to remember that every good thing we have is because “Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.” The fellowship of God’s people, the songs of Zion, the prayers of the saints, and the sweet spirit of unity have all been precious gifts from the Lord.
This morning, Lord willing, Elder Kenny Venable will bring us the morning message. Please continue to pray that God would bless the service, strengthen His people, encourage weary hearts, and receive all honor and glory unto Himself.

We love and appreciate you all more than words can say.

This do in remembrance of me.” — 1 Corinthians 11:24

Today is our communion service.

We are not coming because we are good enough. We are coming because Jesus loves us and gave Himself for us. The bread and the cup remind us that His body was broken and His blood was shed so we could be brought close to Him.

This is not something to be afraid of, and it is not a burden. It is a blessing. It is a time to slow down, think about Jesus, and thank Him for what He has done.

The Bible tells us to examine ourselves. That doesn’t mean we have to be perfect. It means we come with a humble heart—honest, sorry for our sins, and thankful for His grace.

If you can’t be in a communion service today, I trust that sometime today you can be in communion with Him—quiet your heart, think on His love, and draw near.

I pray today that all of God’s people will draw close to Him, remember His love, and find peace in Him.

“Happy are ye if ye do them.” — John 13:17

May the Lord bless you is our prayer.
