🚧 Help Pave the Way at Walnut Grove Cemetery 🚧

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Walnut Grove Cemetery has long stood as a peaceful and sacred resting place for our loved ones—a place of remembrance, reflection, and community history. As stewards of this historic cemetery, we are committed to ensuring that the grounds remain respectful, accessible, and well-maintained for generations to come.

We are excited to announce a major improvement project: replacing the cemetery roadway. The project will stretch from the Locust Street entrance, to the bathrooms/flagpole on the western side of the cemetery. This long-overdue upgrade will provide safer, smoother access for families, visitors, and maintenance teams throughout the year.

To make this vision a reality, we are launching a fundraising campaign to raise $75,000 to cover the full cost of materials, labor, and construction. As a 501(c)(13) nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible and will go directly toward the roadway replacement.

How You Can Help:

• Make a donation – Every dollar counts and brings us one step closer to our goal.

• Spread the word – Share this campaign with family, friends, and neighbors.

• Honor a loved one – Consider donating in memory of someone resting at Walnut Grove.

Together, we can pave the way—literally—for a better, safer cemetery for all who visit and honor those who came before us.

Please contact me directly with any questions at (660) 537-0119 (call or text) or email [email protected]

Thank you for your continued support and generosity.

The unique family plots in the older section are one of the reasons Walnut Grove Cemetery has such charm and charisma. But when they are multiple generations old, the families may not be around anymore to take care of the areas the way they need to be. When that happens the cost and maintenance falls to the Cemetery Board. The bushes around the fountain have been there for years and years and had outlived their lifespan. It was time to retire them so we can move forward with something new.
Please consider making a donation to the cemetery today so we can keep making improvements each day.

Reminder.... The crew will be picking up flowers and containers left on the ground tomorrow (Wednesday 11th) so they can start mowing and w**d eating again. TODAY is the last day to retrieve your items you wish to keep.
💐 💐 💐
If you placed flower containers on the ground over the Memorial Weekend that you wish to keep, please pick up by Monday June 9th. Anything left on the ground will be disposed of so the grounds can be properly mowed and maintained.
Arrangements on the stones or in the vases are fine to leave.

The Cemetery board was recently able to partner with the students at BTEC in Boonville to help give our 10 historic benches a face-lift. With the donation of paint and painting supplies from Ricmar Decorating in Boonville, the students gave the benches a fresh coat of paint and they are now back in their spots just in time for the cemetery tour this weekend.
THANK YOU to ALL involved!
