Worship is inside this morning, August 30.

Due to potential rains coming into our area, we have decided to move worship inside this morning.
Please come for worship where we will be welcoming new members, and praying for the start of the school year.
and then, stay for a fabulous brunch complete with the famous Augustana “Lutheran eggs!” See you at 9:30!

We are horrified and saddened by the news coming from Nepal about the flash flooding today. The ELCA is in contact with our companions and partners in Nepal as the impact continues to unfold. We hold our companions and partners, and the people of Nepal and Tibet in prayer in this incredibly challenging time.

Let us pray:

Loving God, in the communion of Christ, we are joined with the trials and sufferings of all. Be with the people of Nepal and Tibet affected by devastating flash flooding. Protect those who remain in danger, comfort those who grieve, strengthen first responders and aid workers, and guide leaders as they coordinate relief efforts.

Surround our companions and partners with your presence and peace. In the midst of uncertainty and loss, sustain hope, courage, and resilience through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

Join us for Family Faith Night at Augustana! Beginning September 16th families can share a meal together at 6:00 p.m. Kid's Bible Time and Confirmation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Kid's Bible Time is available for 3-year-olds through 6th grade. Please register on the church website if you plan to attend. Paper copies of the registration can be found at the kitchen counter. We can't wait to share this time with you!

Faith Feasts: Wednesday evenings will begin with a simple supper served for all kids and their families at 6:00 p.m. We encourage you to eat as a family if it fits into your schedule. Please sign up each week with the number of family members who will be eating. Regarding our siblings in Christ in Indiana and Kentucky

We have heard reports of storm damage in communities and congregations across the Indiana-Kentucky Synod, with more severe weather still possible. We hold all those affected in prayer and give thanks for the neighbors, first responders and others already helping.

Our IN-KY Synod Disaster Response team continues to stay connected and attentive to needs across our synod. As we care for one another in the days ahead, we offer this prayer:

God of refuge and strength, be near to those facing damaged homes, fallen trees, power outages and uncertainty. Give strength to first responders, utility crews, volunteers and neighbors working to keep communities safe and help with recovery.

🙏As more storms move through our region, protect those in their path. Grant wisdom to those making decisions, shelter to those who need it and peace in the midst of fear.

May we continue to care for one another, check on our neighbors and be the hands and feet of Christ in the days ahead.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.🙏
