Summer is right around the corner… and that means VBS at The Creek!

This year, we’re headed to the junkyard for Junkyard Redemption, with four nights of games, worship, Bible lessons, crafts, laughter, and learning how Jesus takes broken things and makes them new.

When: June 22–25, 5:15-8:30pm
Where: Howard’s Creek Church
Who: For kids who’ve completed Kindergarten through 5th Grade, plus church family toddlers

Whether your child has grown up at The Creek or you’re just looking for a welcoming place for them this summer, we’d love to have them join us.

Following Jesus was never promised to be easy.
There’s a cost to discipleship: surrender, daily denial, and publicly identifying with Christ even when it’s uncomfortable.

But Jesus also reminds us of something incredible:

You are deeply known.
Deeply valued.
And never alone.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’m not strong enough” or “I’m not good enough,” you’re exactly the kind of person God loves to use.

When you look at the cross, you realize how much you matter to Him.
And when you love Him fully, discipleship stops feeling like a burden and starts becoming a privilege.

This week, we pray:
That fear wouldn’t keep us silent.
That we’d joyfully identify with Christ.
That we’d trust Jesus more than temporary things.

This Sunday, we continue Fearless Discipleship Part 2 from Matthew 10:26–42. Pastor Burl will unpack what it means to follow Jesus boldly when life feels heavy with worry, and where unfathomable joy actually comes from.

It's also Memorial Day weekend. We'll take time to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Fearless discipleship doesn’t start with boldness.
It starts with dependence.

It’s easy to grow comfortable.
Easy to be consumed with our own lives.
Easy to assume “someone else” will do the ministry.
Easy to stay quiet when courage is required.

But Jesus invites ordinary people to see their team, workplace, school, and neighborhood as their field...and to be faithful right where they are.

Humble. Gentle. Unapologetic with the truth.
Trusting that we can’t do it on our own… but He can do it through us.

This week, we pray:
That we’d see our community the way Jesus sees it.
That we’d go as laborers in the harvest.
That we’d love others to Christ, one heart at a time.
