What an incredible day at camp!
We began our morning with powerful worship and a message centered on our theme verse, Galatians 5:13 Freedom.
Our students were reminded that because of Jesus, their past no longer defines them, and their future is secure. Through Peter’s story, we learned that Jesus paid the price for our freedom, gave us a new identity in Him, and offers us the assurance that our hope is alive. One of the most powerful reminders was: Our future is secure—not because we’re holding on to Jesus, but because Jesus is holding on to us.
In our evening rally, we focused on the importance of godly friendships through the example of David and Jonathan. We learned that godly friends don’t add to your weakness they remind you of your freedom. While bad influences can pull us away from God, true friends encourage us, speak truth in love, hold us accountable, and point us back to Christ.
A powerful takeaway from the night was: Everyone wanted to be David’s friend after he defeated Goliath, but Jonathan stayed his friend when David was hiding in caves. That’s the kind of faithful friend we’re called to be.
Our challenge was simple. If you want godly friends, be a godly friend. Stay rooted in God’s Word, because it is our source of life and teaches us how to walk faithfully with Him and with others.
We wrapped up another amazing day with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for the rest of the week!
