DEVOTION: DISCOURAGEMENT IS THE OPPOSITE OF FAITH

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV)

Discouragement is one of the tools Satan uses to weaken our faith. When we become discouraged, we begin looking at our problems instead of looking at our God.

Satan whispers, “It’s too hard. Nothing is going to change. You might as well give up.”
But faith says, “God is still in control!”

Faith doesn't mean we won't face difficult days. Faith means that even in the difficult days, we trust the One who holds us.

📖 “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God.” — Psalm 42:5

Don't let discouragement steal your joy, your prayer life, your worship, or your hope. Take your eyes off the storm and put them back on Jesus.
The enemy wants you discouraged.
God wants you trusting.

The enemy says, “Give up.”
God says, “Keep going.”
Today, choose faith over fear, hope over discouragement, and Jesus over the lies of the enemy.

🙏 Lord, strengthen our faith when we become discouraged. Help us keep our eyes on You and trust You even when we cannot see the way forward. Amen.

Don't give up. God is not finished yet! 🔥

What a great blessing we had today at our Fifth Sunday Sing! 🎶🙏

We are so thankful for the wonderful time of worship, fellowship, and praise. A special thank-you to the Quentin Hall family for coming and sharing their God-given talents with us through song. What a blessing you were to our church family!

We also enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship and a delicious dinner afterward. ❤️🍽️

Thank you to everyone who came, participated, and helped make today such a special day at Union Hill Baptist Church.

To God be the glory for all He has done! 🙌

Altar to Table Senior Adults Lunch ❤️

What a wonderful time we had today at our Altar to Table Senior Adults Lunch!

We enjoyed a delicious meal, great fellowship, and an informative presentation from Officer Jeremy Abbott, who shared valuable information about scams happening over the phone and internet.

We are thankful for his willingness to help keep our senior adults informed and protected. Most of all, we are grateful for the opportunity to gather around the table, fellowship with one another, and enjoy the blessings God has given us.

From the Altar to the Table—sharing faith, fellowship, and friendship! 🙏❤️

Tuesday Devotion: “Rear Back and Plow”

“Break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD…” — Hosea 10:12

Sometimes God has to rear us back and plow the hard places in our hearts. The ground may have become dry, hard, and unproductive—but God is still able to make it fruitful again.

Don’t resist the plowing. Let God break up the hard places, remove the weeds, and prepare your heart for a fresh work.

Before God sends the harvest, He often prepares the soil.

Today, let’s ask:

🙏 “Lord, plow up anything in my heart that is keeping me from You.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found.

Friday Devotion: Only Jesus Can Help You Say NO to Temptation

Temptation will come—but you don't have to give in.

You cannot overcome every temptation by your own strength. But Jesus can give you the strength to say NO!

When temptation comes, don't try to fight it alone. Turn your eyes toward Jesus, call on His name, and trust His strength.

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful…” — 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV)

Today, remember: Temptation may knock, but you don't have to open the door. Jesus is stronger than anything that is tempting you.

Lord Jesus, help me say NO to temptation and YES to You.

Thursday Devotion | Union Hill Baptist Church

The Strongest People Kneel Before God
The world may tell us that strength means standing tall, never showing weakness, and handling everything on our own.

But God's Word teaches us something different.

The strongest people are the ones who know when to kneel.

When we kneel before God, we are not admitting defeat—we are surrendering to the One who has all power.

🙏 Kneel when you don't know what to do.
🙏 Kneel when the burden feels too heavy.
🙏 Kneel when you need wisdom.
🙏 Kneel when you need strength.
🙏 Kneel simply because He is worthy.

James 4:10 (ESV): “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.”

Today, don't be afraid to get on your knees. There is strength in surrender, power in prayer, and victory in trusting God.

The strongest people aren't always the ones who stand the tallest. They are often the ones who kneel the lowest before God.

WEDNESDAY DEVOTION: WORSHIP IS NOT ENTERTAINMENT

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” — John 4:24

Worship was never meant to be entertainment. We do not gather in God’s house to be impressed, amused, or entertained. We gather to encounter the living God.

Worship is not about how well the music is performed, how exciting the service feels, or whether everything goes the way we prefer. Worship is about giving God the glory, honor, reverence, and surrender He deserves.

Sometimes true worship is loud and joyful. Sometimes it is quiet and broken. Sometimes we sing with hands raised, and sometimes we bow our heads with tears in our eyes.

But in every circumstance, the question is the same:

“Am I worshiping God—or am I expecting God to entertain me?”

Jesus deserves more than an audience. He deserves our hearts.

This Wednesday, let’s come before Him not looking for a performance, but prepared to worship.

“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker!” — Psalm 95:6

🙏 Come ready to worship. Come ready to surrender. Come ready to meet with God.

Friday Devotion: Union Hill Baptist Church

Faith is not a general belief in anything; it is confidence in God.

True faith is demonstrated by trusting Him even when the outcome is unseen. It is resting in His promises amid uncertainty and being assured of His unwavering faithfulness.

Do not place your confidence in circumstances, emotions, or people. Place your confidence in the Lord. Trust Him. Rest in Him. He has never failed, and He never will.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding." — Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)

You Can Only Float in God's Love

When you stop fighting against God and fully trust Him, you discover that His love will hold you up. Just as a person floats when they relax and trust the water, we find peace when we rest in God's unfailing love.

You don't have to carry every burden by yourself. God's love is strong enough to sustain you, His grace is sufficient, and His faithfulness never fails.

"We have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love..." — 1 John 4:16 (ESV)

Today, stop striving. Rest in His promises. Trust His heart. You can only truly float when you are resting in God's love.

Don’t Underestimate Your Faith

Sometimes we look at our circumstances and feel like our faith is too small to make a difference. But Jesus reminds us that even faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains.

Faith is not about how strong we are—it is about how great our God is. A small step of obedience, a simple prayer, or a quiet act of trust can be used by God in powerful ways.

Don’t underestimate what God can do through a heart that is willing to trust Him. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep walking by faith.

“...If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move...”
— Matthew 17:20

Have a blessed Wednesday. May we trust God more today than we did yesterday.
