Daily Devotion – Union Hill Baptist Church

"But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name." — John 20:31

John tells us exactly why he wrote his Gospel: so that people would believe in Jesus. Every miracle, every teaching, every act of compassion points to one truth—Jesus is the promised Savior and the Son of God.

Faith in Christ is more than knowing facts about Him. It is trusting Him completely and receiving the life only He can give. In a world full of uncertainty, Jesus offers hope, forgiveness, peace, and eternal life.

Today, take a moment to thank God for His Word and ask Him to strengthen your faith. Then share the good news with someone who needs hope.

Morning Devotion – Matthew 25:23

"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your lord." — Matthew 25:23

Jesus reminds us that God values faithfulness more than fame, popularity, or success in the eyes of the world. The servant was praised not because he had everything, but because he was faithful with what he had been given.

God has entrusted each of us with gifts, opportunities, time, and resources. Our calling is not to compare ourselves with others but to faithfully serve Him where we are.

One day, every believer longs to hear these words from the Lord: "Well done, good and faithful servant." May that desire motivate us to live for Christ, serve others, and honor God in all we do today.

Devotion —Union Hill Baptist

“Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” — Mark 3:35

In this moment, Jesus is redefining what true family looks like. He is not dismissing His earthly family, but He is expanding the meaning of belonging in the kingdom of God.

In the culture of the time, family ties were the strongest identity a person had. Yet Jesus shifts the focus from bloodline to obedience—“whoever does God’s will.”

This is both inviting and challenging. It’s inviting because it means anyone can belong. No one is excluded by background, status, or past. The door into God’s family is open through obedience and faith. But it is also challenging because it reorders priorities. Being close to Jesus is not about proximity, tradition, or association—it’s about alignment with God’s will.

In the broader message of the Gospel of Mark, discipleship is always active. Following Jesus means doing what He says, not just admiring what He teaches. Here, Jesus is gently but firmly teaching that spiritual relationship is deeper than physical relationship.

A simple question rises from this passage: Am I just near Jesus, or am I actually doing the will of God?

The good news is that God’s will is not hidden. It is revealed in Christ—love God, love people, walk in obedience, and trust Him daily. When we live that way, we are not just followers in name—we are part of His family in truth.

Morning Devotion –

John 20:31
"But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."

John tells us why he wrote his Gospel: so that people would believe in Jesus Christ and find life in Him. The miracles, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus were not recorded merely as history lessons. They were written to lead us to faith.

True life is found in a relationship with Jesus. When we trust Him as Savior and Lord, we receive forgiveness, hope, purpose, and eternal life. The same message that changed lives 2,000 years ago still has the power to change lives today.

As you go through your day, remember that faith in Christ is not just about knowing facts about Jesus—it is about trusting Him completely and experiencing the life He offers.

🙏 Prayer: Lord, strengthen my faith and help me live each day trusting You. Thank You for the life, hope, and salvation found in Jesus Christ. Amen.

📖 Daily Devotion –

Acts 8:8
"So there was much joy in that city."

When Philip preached Christ in Samaria, lives were changed. People were healed, set free, and introduced to the saving power of Jesus. The result was simple yet powerful: much joy.

True joy is not found in circumstances, possessions, or popularity. Real joy comes when Jesus changes hearts and brings hope where there was once despair. A city filled with people who encounter Christ becomes a city filled with joy.

Today, ask yourself: Am I sharing the joy of Christ with others? The same gospel that transformed Samaria still transforms lives today. When Jesus is welcomed into our homes, churches, and communities, joy follows.

🙏 Prayer: Lord, fill my heart with the joy that comes from knowing You. Help me share Your love so others may experience the same life-changing joy. Amen.

May your day be filled with the joy that only Jesus can give! ✝️😊
