Sin is much easier to avoid than it is to escape. It is desperately important for us to remember that God provides everything we need to escape the temptation of sin. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." This is a promise made to some who had already obeyed the gospel; however, anyone willing to commit to the Lord and His word can build the faith that will enable them to overcome any temptation, as Paul writes in Ephesians 6:16, "In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one. "
If we have become trapped in sin, God and His word are the solution that will get us out, and enable us to find forgiveness. The question is, "Do we want the solution"? If we want God's solution, we will seek it out, and God will not withhold it!
