This is well said, maybe not the way we would say it.. but many of the sentiments are Trù. We are striving to live in harmony with the land and re claim our symbols that have been so badly misused over the years, this causes many a misunderstanding over who we are and what we stand for. We are proud of our DNA/the blood that flows in our veins. But we want everyone to be proud of theirs also.
Reconstructionism and genes?
Every day I meet people who say that they are reconstructionists who only follow, read and practice from the "written sources", and I laugh at all their comments while they take their bus home from work or school and type what they are doing on their expensive smartphone.
Because their statement after they first tried to consult me and behave as what I call an "Askhole", and then always changes their behavior to insult me instead with ridiculous nonsense.
Everyone understand that not a single one live a 100% reconstructed life accept these people. Especially when they say that they live like a "Viking" as my ancestors did 1000 years ago.
So the whole discussion is just ridiculous before they have spelled Viking Age completely.
And it doesn't get any better when people also try to make me look like a fool for how I live my way of life in my culture, folklore and history in balance with Scandinavian Animism.
Because I don't reconstruct anything.
I live now and not yesterday in balance with nature and our historic culture and ways.
Everyone else know that our culture and ways is dynamic and not static where everyone lives in the past.
It's only Wikipedia experts and Brosatruars who think that it's the only way of living while they shout at people that they are doing everything wrong from their smartphone as it is a dick contest.
Our culture and practice of our lives have always followed us throughout all the years here in Scandinavia, and we all live now and not yesterday.
A lot of other people nowadays try to claim genes and DNA from famous and/or fictive Vikings,
And I see their claims here and there all the times.
I can only shake my head and laugh at them sadly.
And I hope that they will realize how ridiculous they are at some point.
Because no one can claim anything without DNA from the source from the fictive person etc. And I could go on about all of this, but we don't need to be rocket scientists to understand the bs. in all their claims.
However, I have genes from the Homo Correctus so you all know, and not just from my father's bag of fun between his legs.
All of it is more common than we can comprehend nowadays.
Our spirituality and our Trú isn't a "price" we use to show others like it was a Ferrari or a new smartphone.
It's a continents history and culture you ridicule for your narscisistic tendencies.
