SEASONAL SHARING NEEDS THANKSGIVING 2021
For Thanksgiving, St. Maurice in collaboration with Bolton Senior & Social Services is distributing food and other groceries on Sunday 11/21. While grocery shopping this week, please pick up a bag or two of groceries for needy Bolton families, about 25 this year. Leave it in the church any time it is open or on the porch of the Parish Center any time this week. Members of the Fair Group preparing for Sleigh Bells Ring and will get it inside to sort and pack it. Food donations may also be left at the Bolton Senior Center when open.
• Cash donations are used to purchase Shop Rite gift cards.
o Check to St. Maurice (memo: Easter Food), drop in collection or mail to 32 Hebron Road, Bolton CT 06043;
o Select Donate Online in left menu at Church of St. Maurice (saintmauricebolton.org), on donation page see Easter Food under Special Collections and follow instructions; or
o Check to Bolton Senior & Social Services (memo: Seasonal Sharing), mail to 104 Notch Road, Bolton CT 06043
• Paper, soap, and personal care products – These are especially useful because families cannot purchase these items with food stamps or other food subsidy programs.
o Bathroom tissue, facial tissue, paper towels
o Dish detergent, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, household cleaning supplies
o Bar soap, shampoo, toothpaste, dental floss, skin lotion, deodorant
• Meat
o Canned tuna, chicken, or ham
o Fresh meat is being donated by Shop Rite of Manchester
• Vegetables
o Fresh or frozen vegetables: drop off at the Parish Center on Saturday morning 11/21/2021
o Canned vegetables can be dropped off any time on the porch of the Parish Center. It’s OK to take from your existing stock, but please only donate cans not past their expiration date.
• Fruit
o Fresh or frozen fruit: drop off at the Parish Center on Saturday morning 11/21/2021
o Canned or dried fruit
• Baking supplies
o Flour, corn meal, sugar, salt, baking powder, oil
o Baking mixes
o Chocolate chips, raisins, cinnamon
• Dairy
o Butter and eggs: drop off at the Parish Center any time this week
o Brick, shredded, and powdered cheese
o Evaporated or powdered milk
• Cereal
o Bread, rolls, bagels, muffins
o Peanut butter and jelly
o Pasta and pasta sauce, macaroni and cheese, pasta salad mix
o Breakfast cereals, oatmeal
• Beverages such as coffee, tea, and bottled fruit juice
• Condiments such as mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, and pickles
• Boxed stuffing mix, mashed potato mix, canned soup
