Today, many congregations participated in the ELCA's annual day of service, “God's work. Our hands.”
Since 2013, the ELCA has embraced “God's work. Our hands.” as a way to live out what it means to be a connected church.
A few weekends ago, New Life in Bolingbrook celebrated “God's work. Our hands.” as the congregation came together for a weekend of service and connection with area ministries. Throughout their “God's work. Our hands.” weekend, New Life members had the opportunity to donate, go and serve, and stay after worship to serve alongside one another. From donating items for area micro-pantries, to serving at the Northern Illinois Food Bank, to cleaning up a local park, New Life lived into the hope of this annual day of service.
Did your congregation participate in “God's work. Our hands.” service? We would love to hear how you are living into being a connected church as we live faithfully, witness boldly, and serve joyfully.
