Our first spot light is Randy Chandler. Randy has been with Colbert Ems for 2 1/2 yrs. Randy has been in EMS for 25 yrs. He got his license in 2001. He worked as an intermediate from 2009 to 2020.

Shoutout to the Backbone of Our Department!

I want to take a moment to shine the spotlight on someone who works tirelessly behind the scenes.

While our officers are out on the streets, Kelsey Walker has been the driving force behind making this week special for our team. From organizing hearty meals from our supporters to coordinating special events that brought our department closer, Kelsey ensured our staff felt appreciated, recognized, and fed!

Support staff are essential to law enforcement, and Kelsey goes above and beyond, not just this week, but all year round.

Thank you, Kelsey, for your dedication, your heart, and for taking such good care of our officers!

On day four of National Police Week, our next department highlight is Patrolman Ryan Walker.

Ryan started his career in law enforcement in 2018 where he became reserve certified, and then became full time CLEET certified in 2022. He has been with our department since 2024. He is well known and involved in the community,and is a very active member of The Rock Church here in town.

Walker received Officer of the Year for 2024, and he was also a nominee for the 2025 Blessed Peace Maker award for the annual Deputy Jarid Taylor Memorial Run. He was one of our speakers at our 2025 Faith in Blue event. Officer Walker never misses an opportunity when it comes to participation in any event/training that he’s able to. He’s always friendly, always wanting to pray for you, and is an important member of our department.
