As women, we are thrilled to be part of a great company who share the Good News! We don’t have to do everything right, have all the answers, be successful, fit into a perfect size 6 or have a clean house. If we could attain perfection and sinlessness on our own Jesus wouldn’t have had to die. But it is impossible for us to be perfectly holy and so God gave His only Son to pay the ultimate price fo
r us. Jesus Christ took all the consequence of our guilt and shame on himself so that we are now able to receive the redemptive power of true freedom and holiness that His blood purchased for us. There is nothing we could do to gain any more freedom. There is no amount of giving, good works, reading your bible or praying that will earn you any more holiness than what Jesus provided for you 2000 years ago when he died for your sins on the cross. Jesus didn’t need our help being righteous, pure and holy, and we didn’t need any help being flawed, humanistic and sinful. But when we accept Jesus and His sacrifice for us, we actually traded places with him. He exchanged our filthy rags for his robe of righteousness. We have been made righteous through Christ alone. Our old sinful nature died on the cross, and we have been resurrected with Christ and are now a new creation. Isn't this Good News?
