The Boise Idaho Temple underwent a renovation in late 1986 through May of 1987. One of the primary projects was to relocate and expand the baptistry.

The workers helped "round-up" the oxen and moved them into the new baptistry. Elder James E. Faust, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles at the time, performed the dedication.

Historical Photo Friday

With the theme of "Treasure the Light", a cultural celebration was held on the eve of the Boise Idaho Temple rededication in 2012. Approximately 9,200 youth from the temple district participated in dances, costumes, music, and narration. President Thomas S. Monson presided over the event and the rededication.

The Boise Idaho Temple is currently needing help in the laundry. There are open positions during all times of day Tuesday - Saturday. Laundry workers typically work one 3-5 hour shift per week, with some exceptions.

You would need to be recommended and set apart as a Temple Worker. Duties include washing, drying, and folding clothes & linens. Other responsibilities include helping distribute clothing to patrons. These are volunteer Temple Worker positions.

These pictures are from the original open house in 1984. The open house ran from May 1st through the 19th. A total of 128,716 people came through the temple doors to tour the Boise Idaho Temple, the Treasure Valley's first temple.

We have self-service family name card printers located in the temple office and in the baptistry. Simply scan the QR code from your Family Tree app and the cards will print to size. Try it out the next time you come.

If you ever forget your temple recommend, just let the temple worker know at the recommend desk and the Temple Recorder will look up the status of your recommend in the temple office. If you have an active recommend in the system, you will be permitted to enter. Don't turn around and go home! We will take care of you!
