Steps for Africa

Steps for Africa God has blessed me so much and given me a heart for Africa. Even though this is a small fundraising campaign God can make the impact stretch into eternity!

It's been a little while since I've posted because I've been sick for the better part of a month. I am going to take an official hiatus from Facebook for a little while. Since we started back in October I've been able to log just under 1.4 million steps. Just under 695 miles. Thank you to Brenda and the Epikos Church team for their faithfulness in helping the orphans in Uganda. They just arrived safely a couple nights ago. Praise God! Thank you to Liz for supporting this and loving those kids so much. Please pray for the Epikos team's safety and that God is glorified through them. They are doing great things for the Kingdom! Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Today is an incredibly special day. Pastor Saeed Abedini who was imprisoned over three years ago in Iran for his Christian Faith is going to finally be released. Many times I felt frustrated with God that he wasn't answering our prayers and freeing him. Seeing another Christmas or another birthday where Naghme his wife and kids would not get to see their father. Wondering if he would die in the harsh conditions of his Iranian prison. But the prayers continued seemingly to no avail. But God had not turned a deaf year, God had heard the prayers of His people. God is faithful. Praise you Jesus!

I was asked to give an update and from when I started on October 11th until now I've logged 475 miles! Please pray for the mission team as they are going to Ntandi in February.

I also want to share the link to a Go Fund Me account Brenda Hudson created that can be used to donate to help provide vitamins for this poverty stricken village.

Happy New Year Everyone! Two weeks on one post today. December 14th through December 27th. The wife and I went through our resolutions today and talked about how we can support each other. It's not easy. But without support the odds are stacked against you and you want them in your favor! God please bless our 2016! Let us crush our goals!

My little one has been sick with a high fever for the past three days.. It has not been fun on either of us. No sleep and periodic temp checks. I have had to watch her temperature very closely as it kept getting out of control the moment the Motrin wore off. That means an accurate temperature was ne…

Week of 11/30 to 12/6. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Ephesians 6:1-3. When will we be able to teach Rachel this and have it sink in? Rachel has been very sick but recently improved with antibiotics. Sarah will attest Rachel has been difficult and not the same. A lot of illness seems to be all around us. Lord bless us and heal us. Let us remember the real reason for the season. Thank you for being the only one in the world post, present, our future worthy to die on the cross and take on the sins of everyone who would be willing to accept your precious gift.

Colossians 3:1 "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God." Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I ate way too much but had a great time with family. Even though we travelled I was fortunate to still make it to the gym a few times. If you didn't know I'm a big Steelers fan and they lost tonight -hence the picture below. This verse reminds me though to keep my focus on Jesus. God bless!

Steps for November 9th through November 15th. Been sick for a little while so missed the mark this week. Now we're down in Grangeville for Thanksgiving vacation with Grandma! We have so much to be thankful for. Psalm 107:1 Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His steadfast love endures forever! Thank you Jesus for loving me and sacrificing everything! So I could have joy, hope, and eternal life.

Week of November 2nd Stats. Made goal. That won't be the case the following week as I have battled sickness most of the week. Sometimes I forget that God's got this. When I can't workout I get frustrated and antsy. But God reminded me to keep things in perspective. Please pray for my friend Ed Ball as he lost his dad yesterday. Jesus please provide comfort to the Ball family in this time. "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. Had a great crossfit workout at Crossfit Fireside in Meridian. Great gym, great people. I really enjoyed it!
Barely made goal last week and again this week I still have a ways to go. If you're donating you can go to Epikos's website. Epikos.com, about, and then giving. I need your encouragement this week as it's gotten really cold and my running paths have gone from the beautiful outside green world to treadmills - boring old treadmills. How can I pray for you or encourage you?

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Hebrews 12:1. 40 miles last week! Not bad. But this week is over today and I've still got about 5 miles to go to meet goal. Lord help me get off this couch! The hardest part about rubbing the race is starting the race. Jesus please help us keep our heads up and keep us moving towards you!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him,and he will make your paths straight. - Proverbs 3:5-6. Life throws things at you. This past week has been no exception. Sometimes straight paths are difficult (and muddy) like on Saturday. In the end the goal was met! 36.58 miles. And we are well on our way for this week! Praise Jesus!
