Jonah 4, and the conclusion of our series on Jonah.
What if God's grace was extended to the very people you least wanted to receive it?
The final chapter of Jonah contains one of the most surprising moments in Scripture. After an entire city repents and is spared from destruction, Jonah is angry. Not because God judged Nineveh—but because He didn't.
In this final installment of my Storms and Shadows series, I explore:
• Why Jonah resented God's mercy
• The lesson of the plant, the worm, and the scorching wind
• What Jonah reveals about prejudice, nationalism, and self-righteousness
• How God's compassion challenges our assumptions about who deserves grace
The book ends with a question that still confronts us today:
Can anyone rightly resent God's grace shown to another?
If you've ever wrestled with God's justice, mercy, or the challenge of loving your enemies, I think you'll find Jonah 4 both uncomfortable and deeply relevant.
