Southminster Presbyterian Church

Southminster Presbyterian Church Southminster Presbyterian Church is an open & affirming community, seeking a caring & just society. We seek to be faithful to Jesus, but not be jerks about it.

If what you hear on the news about religion leaves a bad taste in your mouth, know you aren't alone. Turns out that's easier than you'd think, because Jesus was a great guy/son of God. Our worship services are generally held on Sunday mornings at 9:30am. However, on the 2nd Saturday of each month, we worship at 5:00pm on Saturday night instead, and take the next Sunday morning as a day of intentio

nal sabbath rest. These services tend to be more informal, more contemporary, and sometimes even a little β€œoutside the box!”

Please join us in making the community a better place by living out our faith in love.

There is much to anticipate in worship this Sunday, May 31 at 9:30am. Our Commissioned Ruling Elder Shana Woodbury preaches; we have special guest musicians from the Tree City Chamber Players; we'll commission the folks who will soon travel to Washington D.C. to serve with Bread for the World; and we'll offer gratitude to our volunteer teachers and study leaders.

Southminster is an open and affirming community seeking a caring and just society. That will not change. Join us!

During worship this weekend, we'll commission this year's Offering of Letters for Bread for the World, as well as church members Randy and Billie who will be hand delivering them to Washington, D.C. in June. Haven't written a letter yet? There's still time! Bring them to worship between now and June 7.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor those who died in military service β€” and to hold space for the grief of those who loved them. May we remember with honesty, and work for the peace they deserved.

Join us for worship this Sunday at 9:30am (in-person or online) as we celebrate a Day of Pentecost. No dress code required, but you'll probably be seeing plenty of folks wearing red. Our choir will sing one last time before their summer vacation, and our puppet team will bring new meaning to an oldies song.

If you're looking for a place where your entire being is celebrated, honored, and included β€” Southminster may just be the place for you.

Join us for worship in-person or online this Sunday, May 17, at 9:30am. If you or someone you know is looking for an open and affirming community of faith where your whole person and entire being is celebrated, honored, and included, we'd love to see you at Southminster.

We'll sing hymns, speak prayers, read and proclaim scripture, confess our shortcomings, and be reminded of the joy we're called to share in the midst of life as we know it.
