School Ministries of Spartanburg

School Ministries of Spartanburg School Ministries of Spartanburg Co. was established in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. SMSC continues reaching more students with the gospel!

We offer a Released Time program where parents can release their children to leave campus and receive a period of religious education during the public-school day. In January 2000, the ministry began its first semester at Chesnee Middle School serving 160 students.

Four of our programs officially kicked off this week! 🎒✨ From the pure excitement in our students' eyes to the powerful teamwork of our staff, it was an inspiring start. We did face a few immediate hurdles, including two bus breakdowns. It was a clear reminder that challenges will come to discourage us, but God faithfully makes a way every single time.

On Tuesday, we had the privilege of serving students from Clifdale Middle School! 🏫✨ We hosted three wonderful classes with the help of two fantastic staff members and an incredibly welcoming host church. ⛪❤️We hit one small glitch when our last class arrived—the school bus suddenly started rolling smoke from under the hood! 🚌💨🫣Thankfully, Pastor Davis and a helpful church member rushed right to our aid to save the day! 🦸‍♂️🔧😉 Grateful for our amazing community! 🙌 Look at God work! 🙏🌟

Snack duty is officially in full swing! 🍿🔥 To supply our students for classes, SMSC made multiple hauls to Costco and Sam's Club to bypass those pesky deal limits. 🏃‍♂️💨 The garage was full, so the trunk is now loaded and ready for next week's deliveries. 🚗🎒 Out of curiosity: if you saw someone loading a cart this high, what would you assume they were doing? 🤔🛒
