Scripture Sunday! 📖✝️🙏

Mark 5:1-20

Mark 5:1-20 describes the story of Jesus healing a man possessed by many demons, known as Legion. After the demons were cast out and entered a herd of pigs, the man was restored to his right mind and went on to share his testimony of Jesus' mercy in the Decapolis.

This passage highlights themes of deliverance, transformation, and the impact of sharing one's testimony.

Matthew 22:15-22

In Matthew 22:15-22, the Pharisees try to trap Jesus with a question about whether it is lawful to pay taxes to Caesar. Jesus asks for a coin (a denarius), points out whose image is on it, and replies, “Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

This statement emphasizes the distinction between civic responsibilities and spiritual obligations, suggesting that while one must fulfill earthly duties, ultimate allegiance belongs to God.

Joshua 2:1-11

The events in Joshua 2:1–11 occur as the Israelites prepare to enter Canaan after 40 years in the wilderness, following Moses’ death and Joshua’s appointment as leader. Joshua sends two spies to Jericho, where they meet Rahab, a Canaanite woman who hides them and later secures their promise of safety for her family by tying a scarlet cord in her window.

Rahab's actions were crucial in the story of Jericho as she protected the Israelite spies, which not only ensured their safety but also provided critical information that bolstered Israel's confidence before the battle. Her faith and strategic decisions ultimately led to her family's salvation and her inclusion in the lineage of Jesus, highlighting the theme of redemption in the narrative.

Luke 5:27-32

Jesus called Levi, a tax collector, to follow him, and Levi left everything to obey; then he hosted a large banquet where tax collectors and others gathered, prompting Pharisees to criticize Jesus for eating with sinners, to which Jesus replied that he came to call sinners to repentance rather than the righteous.

Scripture Sunday ✝️📖🙏

In Matthew 13:24-30, Jesus tells the parable of the wheat and the weeds, where a farmer sows good seed, but an enemy sows weeds among them. The farmer decides to let both grow together until the harvest, when the weeds will be gathered and burned, while the wheat will be collected into his barn.

In verses 47-50, Jesus shares the parable of the dragnet, which catches all kinds of fish; at the end of the age, the good fish will be separated from the bad, with the latter thrown into the fiery furnace.

Both parables illustrate the coexistence of good and evil until the final judgment.

Scripture Sunday!! 📖✝️🙏

Matthew 13:44-46 says the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field and also like a merchant searching for fine pearls. In both parables, when the person finds something of great value, they sell everything they have to buy it.

These parables illustrate the transformative nature of discovering the kingdom of heaven and the commitment required to attain it.

Pray for the families, friends, teammates and co-workers who still feel the loss!

Pray for our first responders, military, and all who protect us!

Pray for our countries leaders!

Pray for protection over our nation, our cities, our families, and those who stand watch!

Pray that America would turn back to God, that hearts would be softened, and that we would never forget how desperately we need Him!

We pray in the name of The Father, protect us. Give wisdom to our leaders, strengthen those who serve, comfort those who grieve, and draw hearts back to You!

We remember! We pray! We will never forget! 🇺🇸 🙏🏼 🕊️ ❤️‍🩹

Scripture Sunday! 📖✝️🙏

Matthew 13:3-9, 18-23 contains the Parable of the Sower, where Jesus describes a farmer sowing seeds on different types of soil, representing how people receive the word of God. The passage explains that the seeds that fall on good soil produce a fruitful harvest, while those on the path, rocky ground, or among thorns fail to thrive.

Interpretation of the Parable

In verses 18-23, Jesus explains the meaning of the parable to His disciples:
Seed on the Path: Represents those who hear the word but do not understand it, allowing the evil one to take it away.
Seed on Rocky Ground: Symbolizes those who receive the word joyfully but fall away when faced with challenges due to a lack of deep roots.
Seed Among Thorns: Refers to those who hear the word but are overwhelmed by life's worries and riches, preventing them from bearing fruit.
Seed on Good Soil: Represents those who hear, understand, and accept the word, leading to a fruitful life.

This parable emphasizes the importance of how individuals respond to God's message and the varying outcomes based on their spiritual receptiveness.

This morning Boerne Methodist represented at the Kendall County Fair Parade with an amazing float and members of our Church family riding, walking and handing out candy and waters! Such an amazing way to share our light and be in the community!!!
