Whether you’ve been a Christian for days or decades, the gospel is never something we outgrow.

It’s good news of salvation, but it also guides us as we seek to live for Christ every day.

Romans is about just that: how the gospel impacts every aspect of our life and faith.

Lesson 29🙌🏻

How should we make sense of seasons where God seems silent?

After the book of Malachi, God’s people enter a 400-year season of silence. We know what that can feel like… seasons where prayers linger and God feels distant.

But because of the Holy Spirit, we can trust that God is always at work and always listening - even when it doesn’t feel like it.

This video is part of an ongoing series where BSF Executive Director Hollie Roberts reflects on each book in the Exile & Return study. We pray they encourage you as you study God’s Word!

“Malachi invited God’s people to return to Him before the Messiah came. Malachi’s name means “my messenger.” ...The book’s opening verse emphasizes Malachi’s God-given message. Malachi aimed to stir God’s apathetic people to seek His tender love and honor His majestic holiness.” lesson 28 on page 339

What is Romans really all about?

You might first think of a familiar verse or a challenging passage from this book. But what is it REALLY about?

Grace. Hope. Transformation.

Romans is all about the gospel - not only what it means to accept it, but how we can be transformed by it day by day.

Romans provides the encouragement and instruction we need on a daily basis. It teaches us to treasure Christ and cling to Him as we strive to live for Him daily.

Encounter the God who saves - and be transformed - as we study Romans: From Guilt to Grace.

Notes Quotes from Lesson 27📖

04/15/2026

"BSF is where God became real to me."

Megan, a BSF member in Canada, grew up in church - but it wasn't until studying God's Word in BSF that her faith became real.

Diving into Scripture, learning about the gospel, growing in prayer and community: this is what BSF is all about. And our desire is to see lives like Megan's transformed by Christ.

Whether you've grown up around church or are just exploring faith, know this: God desires a relationship with you. Join the BSF community to see what real hope for real life looks like.

“At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, the Levites were sought out from where they lived and were brought to Jerusalem to celebrate joyfully the dedication with songs of thanksgiving and with the music of cymbals, harps and lyres.” Nehemiah 12:27

What if we viewed obedience not as restriction, but as an invitation?

In Nehemiah 9-10, we see God’s people remembering His faithfulness, confessing where they’ve fallen short, and choosing to walk in His ways again. Not out of obligation, but out of a desire to live aligned with His will.

Lesson 26 of Exile & Return reminds us that the life God calls us to is better. It’s a life that overflows into serving others and ultimately points back to His glory.

Where might God be inviting you into deeper obedience today?
