Today I had a very special day I visited Agnes… this is a picture from last Oct 8th she turned 99 on Oct 8th…

She shares her birthday with my daughter and I’ve told her that!
I’ve told her you share your birthday with my daughter Agnes and Ive told her you’re pretty like my daughter Agnes !
And she smiles!
I visited with Father Padit and he gave her the Last Rites today.
I never was with someone when they received the Last Rites but it’s a very powerful thing…

She’s not talking much now at 99 but she blessed herself with the sign of the cross about 3 times during the prayers that Father Padit said …

I was holding her hand during the Last Rites prayers and she kept looking back and forth at me and Father Padit.

It was a very moving experience.
The priest asked all the Angels of God to carry her straight into heaven whenever God called her home and he asked for forgiveness for all of her sins in the name of Jesus Christ.
He asked all the Saints in heaven and all holy men and women to pray for her.

She has met two popes and two popes have blessed her.

She smiles all the time.

On Sundays when I visit her to bring her Communion I ask if her son Frankie is taking good care of her and she says yes and then she says I took care of Frankie now he’s taking care of me!
She has a very good son who is taking care of his mama 👏👏👏👏👏👏

She is a mother of ten children!

And the two popes sent gifts in the mail she has these gifts there in the home from both the Popes !

My Ministry HOPE MINISTRY HELPING OLDER PEOPLE EVERY DAY enables me to meet very special people.
This Ministry is such a Blessing to me and all of my volunteers!
Thank You Lord🙏🙏

H.O.P.E. Ministry
Helping Older People Everyday….
Share your love with the Elderly as often as you can.
It’s one of those things you’ll never regret.

One thing to remember about Dementia is that people experiencing dementia may not be able to recount what has happened an Hr later. Their short memory might be very poor. BUT what’s important is when they’re going through the experience they’re enjoying it just as much as you. Soo…continue to party and enjoy everyday with the elderly!

Be intentional in your journey and your journey with the Elderly in your life. You define aging. Don’t allow aging to define you.
Always
Take care of the elderly people in your life!
Think about the Elderly in your life that you might be able to help…be it be a family member, a neighbor you know, maybe a neighbor you don’t know that well but you’ve seen and maybe you could talk to them strike up a conversation and just see how they’re doing…maybe just ask if they need any help with anything?? Could you occasionally grocery shop for them or just stop in for conversation so they’re not so lonely?
You won’t regret it!
Grace and Blessings on your path 💚🙏💚

As the Sun rises this Saturday morning,
across our Nation and around the World...

God of Creation,

We have confidence that in the morning, You hear our voices, Lord ...and in the morning we lay our requests before You and we wait patiently and expectantly.

We Thank You Lord, for hearing our voices and we thank You in advance for responding to us.

We know that You are in control of everything this morning and we pray that You continue to have Your divine way in our lives.

We also ask you to help us Lord when we feel lost, as some of us do. Sometimes, we feel like we pray and you don’t answer our prayers and it is hard for us.

We need help in understanding... that you are answering our prayers in different ways... sometimes by telling us to wait.

Sometimes the answer to our prayers is No...because You, God see the bigger picture in our lives.

But in our humanness, it is easy to grow weary and discouraged, so we ask You to help us Lord.

We pray that we always make You, our focus, when we arise, let this be our mentality throughout the day today, even as we labour, that we will look to You, especially as we interact with other people.

We declare that we will try our best today to make You at the forefront of our thoughts, our words and our actions.

We pray together

🙏🙏
Amen

Introductory Prayer: Lord Jesus, in this Lenten season, I want to draw closer to you. I believe that you truly became one of us to save us as an act of love beyond all human understanding. I know I can count on you to carry me through each day. I know that in all circumstances you are with me. I want to love you more than myself and say “yes” to your will in every moment. I trust totally in your grace. Thank you, Lord! This Lent, I want to learn to love you more, as you deserve. I want to be the person you want me to be.

Petition: Lord Jesus, help me to re-discover all the gifts you have given me and help me to use them to bear fruit.

02/28/2020

Conversation with Christ: Lord, make me generous and joyful in sacrifice, knowing that sacrifice unites me closer to you and wins the grace of conversion for so many souls you love and for whom you died.

Resolution: I will choose one person I know who needs God’s grace and offer all my sacrifices today for them.

WAR OF THE WORLDS

"Where do the conflicts and disputes among you originate?
Is it not your inner cravings that make war within your members?" James 4:1
We have soldiers, bombs, policemen, and lawyers to deal with conflicts and disputes.
We spend a fortune on our symptoms but avoid dealing with the causes, that is, our inner cravings making war within our members.
Only the "Holy Spirit, Who is within" (1 Cor 6:19), can deal with the war within.

"The flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh; the two are directly opposed" (Gal 5:17).
“My point is that you should live in accord with the Spirit and you will not yield to the cravings of the flesh" (Gal 5:16).
“If you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the evil deeds of the body, you will live" (Rm 8:13).

The Spirit will convict us of sin, justice, and condemnation (Jn 16:8).
He will take us to the cross and show us the connection between our sins and Jesus' suffering and death.
After that, we will never be the same.
We will be crucified to the world and the world to us (Gal 6:14).
We will no longer make provision for the inner cravings of the flesh.
We will put on the Lord Jesus Christ (Rm 13:14). We will have victory inside and victory outside. The war will be won in the power of the Spirit.

Prayer: Jesus, You won the war on Calvary.
May I claim Your victory by the power of the Spirit.
May I be more than a conqueror (Rm 8:37). Promise: "Cast your care upon the Lord, and He will support you." —Ps 55:23

Whose glory do you seek
There can be no share in God's glory without the cross.
When Jesus prophesied his own betrayal and crucifixion, it did not make any sense to his disciples because it did not fit their understanding of what the Messiah came to do. And they were afraid to ask further questions! Like a person who might receive a bad verdict from the doctor and then refuse to ask further questions, they, too, didn't want to know any more.
How often do we reject what we do not wish to see?
We have heard the good news of God's word and we know the consequences of accepting it or rejecting it.
But do we give it our full allegiance and mold our lives according to it?
Ask the Lord to fill you with his Holy Spirit and to inspire within you a reverence for his word and a readiness to obey it.
Do you compare yourself with others?
How ashamed the disciples must have been when Jesus overheard them arguing about who among them was the greatest!
But aren't we like the disciples?
We compare ourselves with others and desire their praise.
The appetite for glory and greatness seems to be in**ed in us.
Who doesn't cherish the ambition to be "somebody" whom others admire rather than a "nobody"?
Even the psalms speak about the glory God has destined for us.
You have made them a little lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honor (Psalm 8:5).

Jesus made a dramatic gesture by embracing a child to show his disciples who really is the greatest in the kingdom of God.
What can a little child possibly teach us about greatness?
Children in the ancient world had no rights, position, or privileges of their own.
They were socially at the "bottom of the rung" and at the service of their parents, much like the household staff and domestic servants.

Who is the greatest in God's kingdom?
What is the significance of Jesus' gesture? Jesus elevated a little child in the presence of his disciples by placing the child in a privileged position of honor.
It is customary, even today, to seat the guest of honor at the right side of the host.
Who is the greatest in God's kingdom?
The one who is humble and lowly of heart - who instead of asserting their rights willingly empty themselves of pride and self-seeking glory by taking the lowly position of a servant or child.

Jesus, himself, is our model.
He came not to be served, but to serve (Matthew 20:28).
Paul the Apostle states that Jesus emptied himself and took the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7).
Jesus lowered himself (he whose place is at the right hand of God the Father) and took on our lowly nature that he might raise us up and clothe us in his divine nature.

God wants to fill us with his own glory
God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).
If we want to be filled with God's life and power, then we need to empty ourselves of everything which stands in the way - pride, self-seeking glory, vanity, etc.
God wants empty vessels so he can fill them with his own glory, power, and love (2 Corinthians 4:7).
Are you ready to humble yourself and to serve as Jesus did?

"Lord Jesus, by your cross you have redeemed the world and revealed your glory and triumph over sin and death.
May I never fail to see your glory and victory in the cross.
Help me to conform my life to your will and to follow in your way of holiness."

This Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent with Ash Wednesday. ... Catholics are not the only group observing Ash Wednesday. Anglicans/Episcopalians, Lutherans, United Methodists and other liturgical Protestants partake in receiving ashes.

We hope you as Christians will consider taking part this year even if in previous years, you may not have taken part.

The ashes are made from the blessed palms used in the Palm Sunday celebration of the previous year.

The ashes are christened with Holy Water and are scented by exposure to incense.

His Divine mercy is of utmost importance during the season of Lent, and the Church calls on us to seek that mercy during the entire Lenten season with reflection, prayer and penance.

You can call any of your local churches and see if they will be distributing ashes.

Our Church for instance has 4 different services this Wednesday to accommodate people with their busy schedules.

May this year be a time of reflection and promise as Lent begins on Ash Wednesday as you gather with other Christians in a Church near you.
