This week we study Parshat Beha’alotcha — a parsha about movement, leadership, and the challenges of living in community. As the Israelites continue their journey through the wilderness, tensions rise, frustrations emerge, and Moses struggles under the weight of responsibility.

Join us as we reflect on resilience, burnout, and the importance of shared leadership and support. Beha’alotcha reminds us that even sacred journeys are messy, and that growth often happens not in perfection, but in the honest work of continuing forward together.

Let's learn together. Let's grow together. Welcome home.

At Neshamah Hebrew School, students are not just memorizing Hebrew letters. They are building confidence one step at a time.

This week, our students practiced decoding and reading Hebrew through interactive games, group activities, Hebrew Jeopardy, and Kahoot challenges designed to make learning stick.

Our curriculum introduces a few letters at a time, giving students the space to truly absorb and recognize each one before moving forward. The result is a learning environment where children feel engaged, successful, and excited to participate.

We believe Jewish education works best when children feel known, supported, and genuinely excited to learn.

Most of the stress around a B’nai Mitzvah doesn’t come from the ceremony.

It comes from everything around it.

The seating chart.
The vendors.
The logistics that somehow take on a life of their own.

But here’s what we’ve seen, over and over.

When the moment comes, when your child stands at the bimah, chants, and speaks from their heart…
that part is almost always peaceful.

Because that’s the part that actually matters.

A B’nai Mitzvah is really two events happening at once.
The ceremony and the celebration.

When you separate them, something shifts.

You can let the celebration be imperfect.
And protect the meaning of the ceremony.

Start early. Simplify where you can. Trust your child. Stay connected to why you’re doing this in the first place.

That’s how it becomes not just less stressful, but more meaningful.

There’s a moment at every B’nai Mitzvah when the room goes quiet.

A parent stands up.
Takes the microphone.
And speaks directly to their child.

Not about the event. Not about the party.
About them.

Who they are.
What you’ve seen.
What you hope for them.

This is one of the most meaningful parts of the entire day.

And it doesn’t need to be perfect.
It needs to be real.

The most powerful parent speeches are not polished.
They’re specific. Honest. Personal.

At Neshamah, we guide families through this moment just as much as we guide the students. Because this is part of the journey too.

A chance to say what matters. In front of everyone who matters.

Welcome to Taste of Torah, our weekly series exploring timeless lessons from the Torah and how they shape our inner lives.

This week we study Parshat Naso — a parsha that reminds us that every person has a role to play in building and sustaining community. Through blessings, responsibilities, and acts of dedication, Naso explores how ordinary people contribute to something sacred and lasting together.

Join us as we reflect on the power of blessing, the importance of personal responsibility, and the ways each of us carries the potential to bring holiness into the world. Naso reminds us that spiritual life is not reserved for a select few — it is created collectively, through the choices we make every day.

Let's learn together. Let's grow together. Welcome home.
