Abundant Grace folks, it's back to school & back to basics!

Jump into Bible Study with us on Wednesday nights at 6:15 PM. Through Dr. Amy-Jill Levine's book & brief video segments addressing the Sermon on the Mount, join our investigation of "how best to live into the Kingdom of Heaven."

Tonight we begin with Session 1 of 6, a study of The Beatitudes from Matthew 4:23-5:12. Take some time to read the scripture today! I hope you will join us tonight!

Abundant Grace friends and neighbors, I hope to see you in the morning at 9:00 AM for Sunday School, 10:00 AM for our Worship Gathering, and for an extended time of fellowship at a local restaurant.

Tomorrow we will engage with the story of Jesus and the Canaanite woman from Matthew 15:21-28, a mother who wouldn't take "no" for an answer!

The next two Wednesday evenings, our studies will be a discussions on biblical, denominational, and personal perspectives on ministries of mercy and justice. Addressing social issues is central to our identity as followers of Christ.
Let's re-examine our why as we answer the call.

WATER WALKER-ISH...

This Sunday in our Worship Gathering at Abundant Grace UMC, we will explore Peter's walk with Jesus in Matthew 14:22-33 and what this story teaches us about stepping out, staying focused, taking risks, and growing as leaders.

Remember, Sunday's study begins at 9:00 AM and the coffee is always hot! Join us for Worship at 10:00 AM, followed by a Leadership Development Meeting at 11:00 AM.

Remember the Vigil for Elder is Wednesday...

We gather at 5:30 PM and begin the multi-site livestream at 6:00 CST/7:00 EST. Our physical address is 2358 US 431, Boaz, AL. Park in the gravel lot behind the church house. Enter by the door under the cedar awning.

This meeting will be live on the page Free Elder Now. Those who will be leading prayers and sharing words of encouragement and support from designated sites will Zoom into our our "virtual prayer room" as we gather.

Thank God for bringing together a. community of hope that spreads across state, denominational, ethnic, and other lines that have separated us in the past. We have grown in number and grown in understanding and strength as we meet and communicate across the miles. I am inspired by the selflessness of one man who kept his promise to Elder and by the passion and wisdom from our friends in Pennsylvania whose work is undergirding the work in Albertville.

God has given us an opportunity to do the work of world mission right here at home. Please join us in advocacy through prayer and action.

Join us on Wednesday night from 5:30 to 7:30 PM as we meet in person at Abundant Grace UMC and across the miles with friends advocating for the release of Elder to return to his community and continue high school. For more information see Free Elder Now.

Elder is a teenager who is ready to move on with his education, play sports, and get training to be a welder. Elder is a new uncle whose family needs him back home in Asbury, an Albertville, AL community. We are ready with open hearts and open arms to help with this transition in whatever way we can.

If you are attending in person, we ask you to consider bringing diapers and wipes for Elder's sister's new baby.
