Do you remember how in school you hated to go to school that day because of a test you didn't study for? We as Christians are given test everyday of our lives. A test in what you may ask. Well a test of faith , courage , love and other things in our spiritual lives. I would think faith would be the hardest one to pass. Do you walk in faith? Do you talk in faith? Do you trust in faith? If not we need to take out Bibles and study what God says about faith.
Fruit of the Spirit----Gal. 5 22&23
Work of God---------John 6:29
God's gift-------------Eph. 2:18
Comes from the heart---Romans 10:9&10
Substance of unseen things-----Heb. 11:1

So lets trust and study everyday so that we find we have Aced the test on faith .
Remember our church when you pray ! May God Bless !!!

Do you remember the pictures you have seen that different artist have painted of Jesus? Like the one of Him setting down and holding a child , Angel helping two children cross a bridge and the picture of the last supper with the apostles . There is many more but the one I like best is the one of Christ knocking at the door. Have you ever notice anything odd about the picture? Next time you see the picture look at it closely. There is no door nob on the outside of the door . Why? Don't you think he was telling us that we had to be the one to open the door. We are the one that has to let Him in to our lives. What a wonderful message from such a simple picture.

Rev. 3:20 Behold I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear my voice and open the door , I will come in to him and will sup with him; and he with me..

May God Bless you ! Pray if He comes and knocks at our loved ones door they will open the door.

I was thinking how we teach our children to pray. The simple prayer we teach them is :
God is great:
God is good,
Let us thank Him for our food. By His hands we are fed, thank you God for daily bread.
Oh it is good to teach them this, but do you tell them what it means?

God is great.
Deut. 10:11
For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords. a great God, a mighty and a terrible , which regardeth not persons , nor taketh reward.

God is good.
David wrote in Psalms 86:5
For thou ,Lord, art good, and ready to forgive ; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

This was a prayer of Davids'. He is saying teach me Thy way , O Lord !

Let us thank Him !
John;6:11
And Jesus took the loaves ; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples; and the disciples to them that were set down.

It is by His hands we are given our daily bread.
Matthew 6:11
Give us this day our daily bread.

It is so sweet to here our children pray. Lets teach them how and why we pray. May God Bless you. Remember to keep our church is your prayers.

"Excuses"

I had a boss one time that I had the most respect for. Oh , he was a tough task master. There was one thing he hated "excuses" ! That really taught me a good lesson. So when ever he ask me why I did such and such , I never gave a excuse. Of course I learned the hard way before I quit giving excuses.

Excuses just didn't start yesterday. They have been going on since the beginning of time. What was the first one? It is in Gen. 3:11-12. Adam put the blame on Eve.
Ex.3:10-12 Moses said he couldn't talk.
Judg. 6:36-40 Proved to Gideon.
Esth. 4:13-17 Made plain to Esther.
Luke 14:16-24 Illustrated by Christ.
John 20:24-28 Made evident to Thomas.
Oh there is many more excuses in the Bible. More than needs to be. Next time God wants you to do something or has already asked you , What will you excuse be?

This reminded me of the old song "Excuses". . When the lady said " Well he didn't even shake my hand."

Remember our church when you pray ! May God Bless you !

Hello ! I feel very humble and about a inch tall.
We as Americans or so blessed and we don't even thank our heavenly Father for it. God has given us so much.

I have a friend, I guess you can call him a pen pal. He is from Kenya Africa. A young born again christian. He is so thankful for the things in his life. He is fixing to be married. His bride will come and live with his family. He is getting excited because it want be very long before they get married. .
We were talking about it was raining there. I was saying we needed some rain for my garden. ( Then this is what made me feel humble and 1 in. tall ) He said they needed rain for domestic use ! Here I am with running water at my fingertips and I 'm not thankful enough for it. He was thankful to be able to catch water as it rained for cooking, baths, and etc..... He had to stop talking a few times to go and catch the water,
When is the last time you thanked God for the simple thing our Father has given you? Lets not forget to be thankful for what we have. My friend was praising God for the rain.
Next time you find yourself on your knees don't forget to thank God for the little things in your life that are so big in others. God loves us all.
Thank you for letting me share. May God bless you !!! Remember our church in prayer.

Have you ever gotten a gift for your birthday or Christmas and didn't open it ? What did that do to the person that gave you the gift or for you ? NOTHING !
God has given us all gifts . Whether we open it or not is our fault .
You might be given a gift to sing , preach , teach , lead and etc... We are counted as being of one body , Christ . If we were all given the same gift , then the other things would go without help.
Use your gifts to glorify God , Be thankful for that gift and don't take it lightly , It is given to you for a reason !
Romans 12 : 3-8
Thank you for your time! May God richly Bless you by your gifts. I love you all !

This week we had a meeting to plan our 50th class reunion. I got to see some I hadn't seen in 49 years. So good to see them .
It made me think of the reunion that we all will have someday. A reunion like no other to those who have excepted the Lord. You know it has been 17 and 18 years since I've seen my parents. How wonderful it will be for them to put their arms around me again. I think of my Granddaddy Upton. He always acted like he was so glad to see me coming to visit. ( He was that way with everyone ) He would start laughing and then he would hold his arms out and I'd run into them.
God made a plan for a reunion and everybody is invited . Have you made plans to go ? I have ! If you haven't I pray you will before it's to late.
I love the song " What A Day That Will Be " Cause it will be the day I see my Jesus's face.
God Bless you and keep us in your prayers.

Do you know how many shepherds it takes to herd a flock of sheep?
Now I am not talking about just a few , I am talking about a multitude.
It takes only One. In the 23rd Psalms it reads " The Lord is my shepherd "
I pray the Lord is your shepherd. The rest of the verse is " I shall
not want." Do you know the difference between want and need? It is simple,
want is something you really don't need. So if you have all your needs,
there is nothing to want. God gives us all we need as long as we trust in Him!
As the sheep trust their shepherd for all their needs.
In the next verse it shows how the sheep don't have any wants. "He maketh
me to lie down in green pastures," They have all the food they need because
the shepherd leads them where they will have all the grass they can eat.
"He leadeth me beside the still waters." Did you know that sheep want
drink out of water that is moving. The water has to be still are they
get upset and will not drink. Same way when life gets a little rough. We just
don't know how to cope. But God settles our life's problems if we trust
in Him.
Next time you read the 23rd Psalms look at it from a lamb's view and apply
it to your life.

Remember our Church in prayer. I pray you got something from these words.
I would love to here from you if only it is a like. God Bless !

I think everyone has a favorite gospel song. One of mine is " Amazing Grace " I just love the first verse.
" Amazing Grace-how sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me " So thankful for God's amazing grace !! For one day I was lost but my Heavenly Father saved me from my sins . So I am no longer lost but I am found ! I was blind to His love but now I can see what He did for me !!
Have you lost something in your life and when you found it what a rejoicing you did? Just think how when we were found the rejoicing that our Father, family , friends and we our self did.
My God is a awesome God. ! Have you felt this kind of rejoicing? If not I pray you will !

Did you know there was another verse to "Amazing Grace"? For some reason people don't sing it anymore .I have a 1882 hymnal and it is in it. It goes-
"And when this heart and flesh shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease ,
I shall possess , within the vail,
A life of joy and peace,"

Remember our Church when you pray ! God bless you all !

"Mint"
I "Mint" to call and thank you,
But my time is in demand.
I "Mint" to say I Love You,
But I knew you'd understand.
I "Mint" to send you flowers,
But they cost so much you know.
I "Mint" to pray for you this morning,
But I had somewhere to go.
I "Mint" to say "Forgive Me,"
But that's so hard to do .
I heard my Lord say "Bless You Child,"
I hope He "mint" me, too!

In life we forget to tell others we love them, we are praying for them, thank you, and other things that we need to tell others. How much does it mean for someone to say these things to you. We need to be more like Jesus, cause He "mint" for us to be.

Faith: Gen. 4:2-7

Cain - Tiller of the ground
Abel - Shepherd of sheep

Why was Abel's gift accepted and Cains' wasn't ?
Was it the gift that was the reason ? ----------No
Hebrews 11:4 By Faith Abel offered unto God , a more excellent sacrifice than Cain..
Abel's gift represents Christ and shedding of blood.
Cain's offering was more about full filling the law , about serving his self , about what was necessary to secure his forgiveness . But Abel's heart belong to God and he offered his lamb out of worship and faith in God's salvation. May God Bless each and everyone of you !
Still remember our church in your prayers.
