Prayers for Kathie Colwell.

Dad called me at 2:30am in the morning on Thursday June 11 and said he needs help with Mom and I need to come home. I didn’t know what to expect, but when I got to Bluford it seemed as if she had a stroke of some sorts? She has been slurring her words, not making much sense to say the least. She has no strength and her legs have stopped working. She has been bedridden all week, I’ve changed her and fed her some yogurt and some watermelon but that was a chore. She finally drank a premium protein shake at 12 noon today. We’re going to need all of the prayers that you can do.
The last 4-5 days Mom has went downhill drastically. We don’t have any answers yet. We went to the ER on Thursday June 11th in Mt Vernon and after 5 hours in the ER they said she was dehydrated, did blood work and then said she was fine and sent her home. 👎🏻 Shame on you Crossroads!!
Her symptoms are directly related to a Uti but she couldn’t use the restroom and the doctor said she really needs a brain scan. Being that Crossroads didn’t seem to know what to do, we didn’t want to take the chance and Dad and I are on our way to St. Luke’s hospital in St Louis as I type this message.
I will update this post as we find out more answers. There has been a lot of folks who know Mom as their Teacher. The Colwell family love serving our community but we are realizing it’s very hard to accept the help of others, so bare with us as we cipher through these tough days. Thank you for the ones that have sent cards, have stopped by or who have called. We really appreciate all of you.
