St. Christopher's Episcopal Mission

St. Christopher's Episcopal Mission St. Our approach to ministry has not changed. Come and see! Christopher’s Mission, St. John the Baptizer, and St.

Christopher’s Mission was established in 1943 by an Episcopal priest who understood “mission” as a process of discerning the Spirit of God that ever precedes the church. Mary of the Moonlight occupy the ancestral and unceded homelands of the Diné, the Apache, the Ute, the Hopi, and the Pueblo. We acknowledge and honor them as the original peoples of this land and their role as custodians of this l

and over countless generations. We celebrate their continuing contributions to the life of this region, and we commit ourselves to actively work alongside them and all Indigenous peoples for reconciliation between us and all peoples, all of creation, and the Creator of us all.

On Friday, June 12, the clergy and elected delegates of the Episcopal Missionary Diocese of the Diné Bikeyah will gather at St. Christopherʼs mission for a day of discernment.

On Saturday, June 13 at 1 pm, Provisional Bishop Barry Beisner will open the Convention for Election of a Bishop by leading a Service of Holy Eucharist in the main chapel at St. Christopherʼs. This service is open to all. Following the Holy Eucharist, the chapel will be cleared and the delegates and clergy of the Diocese will re-gather to begin the voting process to elect the first Bishop Diocesan. We will have to discern between two highly-qualified Diné candidates, the Reverends Cornelia Eaton and Leon Sampson.

The voting area will be closed, but the process will be live-streamed on the ECN website. The Winter Chapel will be a place where interested people will be able to watch the video of the proceedings.

Please keep our beloved leaders, Cornelia and Leon, in your prayers, and pray that those of us voting will hear and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we vote to select our Bishop.
