Great story from Jesus Film Harvest Partners from Rodah Zambia Team # 17.
Rodah became pregnant during a period of deep financial struggle and made the painful decision to terminate the pregnancy without telling her husband. When the truth came out, her husband felt deeply betrayed, and the relationship broke down completely, ending in divorce.
During this time, Rodah felt lost and ashamed, turning to drugs and alcohol to numb her pain. Instead of finding relief, she sank deeper into brokenness, as her relationships with family grew strained and she felt judged and unwanted in her community.
Eventually, her despair grew so heavy that she began to see no reason to live. She attempted to take her own life more than once, but God preserved her life. Looking back, Rodah describes those moments as the darkest point of her life—days filled with hopelessness, loneliness, and regret.
Her story changed when she attended a JESUS film showing. She went with a heart of indifference, but what she saw stayed with her. Watching Jesus suffer and be crucified touched her deeply. For the first time in a long time, she felt something shift inside her heart. Overwhelmed, she cried and realized she needed forgiveness and a new start. That night, she prayed and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior.
Today, Rodah is slowly rebuilding her life through her faith. She is involved in the church and continues to grow spiritually. Even though people sometimes remind her of the mistakes in her past, she holds on to the truth written in 2 Corinthians 5:17 which says,
“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
