MONDAY—EVANGELISTIC PRAYER

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 29-32

Monday, September 7

Josh. 17:18 But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.

Almighty Father and Lord of Hosts:
I am motivated to valor because you promise me victory. So let me head out this week in confidence. I want to be contagiously courageous where I might have been afraid before. I see now how the spiritual battle is both with evil around me, and against sin within me (conflicts within, crosses without). I want to gain the victory, so I can be a faithful witness to _______ and _______. So help me maintain a victorious testimony in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am not heading for a fall – I am riding out to win, and to win others! The grace of God is omnipotent. So bring me accumulating power to overthrow the enemy without, and overcome the evil within, for that makes me credible when I talk about the power of the cross. But, O Lord! Some of the sins inside have chariots of iron. My bad habits, former friends, and old activities all hold me back. I want to drive-out the chariots down a highway of faith, and convert my foes into fellow-laborers. My sins are strong, and in comparison I am weak. Yet in the name of the Lord Jesus I strive for the mastery. As long as one sin has dominion over me, then I am not free for the Lord. Even if there is only one chain left, I am still a captive in bo***ge. Do not let me be raptured with a single sin still ruling me!
† Rom. 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Make this true of me so that I can get the gospel to others! By your Spirit and your word, let me slay every Canaanite. Thank you, Lord of Hosts, for being with me – because no one can deny your saving power. Amen.

SATURDAY—IN THE PSALMS

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 25-28

Saturday, September 5

Psa. 89:15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

We Have Heard the Joyful Sound!
Praise is a specially joyful sound, and I look forward to rejoicing this Sunday with my family in the faith! In the mean time, there is no hour in the day and no day in my life that I cannot rejoice in the name, person, character, and works of my Lord Jesus. My all-sufficient Lord is an all-sufficient source for continual rejoicing, and even giving thanks in every thing, 1 Thes 5:18.
Your righteousness rewards me and lifts me up. Your word encourages me, no matter what my past oppression or depression. Life would be filled with misery if I did not have you, Jesus!
In you I have both righteousness and strength. You are my beauty and my glory, when I am strong in you. You are my comfort and encouragement when I tremble because of conscious weakness in myself. Only you make me strong, so I must not glory in myself. I ascribe all honor to you alone, dear Lord. I have neither strength nor beauty apart from you. The lost need material prosperity to lift them up from despair – but I find encouragement in the secret love of God. Because,
Psa. 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
The almighty power of God abides permanently with you, Lord Jesus. You are redeemer and ruler of my life. I need you with me, so there will be no lack of power in my church!
You are both gracious and faithful. Restore some of your glory on earth today, by the presence of your Spirit and enthroning of your Son in me! Reveal even now a foretaste of all that your covenant holds for me in Christ Jesus. I exalt you as King of kings, and Lord of lords forever. Amen.

FRIDAY— CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 21-24

Friday, September 4

Jer. 2:19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

Master and Commander!
I SEE SO MANY CHRISTIANS WHO TAKE THE LIFE OF GOD AND WASTE IT, because they only live by their own strength. Help us live the life of God to the fullest, and do it in front of others! Make us love you more, and show it.
THERE ARE SOME FOR WHOM GRACE IS ONLY A DIM LIGHT. Recharge their batteries! Bring back the wanderers. They surely must be depressed, because there is no joy apart from you. Reconcile them to us, and restore our fellowship in full.
THERE ARE OTHERS WHOSE CARELESSNESS AND INDIFFERENCE LEADS THEM TO UNGODLINESS. May the sword of your Spirit pierce them through. Slay our apathy, so that our souls can live. Put the knife to the neck of our sins, Lord. Though they tread delicately like Agag, hew them in pieces, 1 Sam 15:32-33.
TO OUR SHAME, WE HAVE SOME WHO ARE PROUD AND SELF-RIGHTEOUS. Lord, you are a polished shaft – smite our heart and strike it down. Make us stoop to ask mercy at your hands. Make us humble and contrite. Then look on us when we are broken-hearted. Relieve us where we are heavy-laden. Strengthen us when we have no helper. In the belly of the whale we will remember the Lord.
Mighty God of Jacob, lead us forth like an army that stretches from here to every field where we have a missionary. The cross has already divided the Red Sea. Help us lead many through the flood, before Satan and his armies devour them. Change our worldview, and give us that heavenly perspective on our lives.
Let me participate today in seeking and saving the lost. Save multitudes, as I let them know of your love in dying for them. Let Jesus be rewarded by this. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 17-20

Thursday, September 3

† Gen. 14:18,20 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and w**e: and he was the priest of the most high God. And [Abram] gave him tithes of all.

I’VE wandered far away from God, now I’m coming home;
The paths of sin too long I’ve trod, Lord, I’m coming home.
I’ve wasted many precious years, now I’m coming home;
I now repent with—tears, Lord, I’m coming home.

I’m tired of sin and straying, Lord, now I’m coming home;
I’ll trust Thy love, believe Thy Word, Lord, I’m coming home.
My soul is sick, my heart is sore, now I’m coming home;
My strength renew, my hope restore, Lord, I’m coming home.

My only hope, my only plea, now I’m coming home;
That Jesus died, and died for me. Lord, I’m coming home.
I need His cleansing blood, I know, now I’m coming home;
O wash me whiter than the snow, Lord, I’m coming home.

Coming home, coming home, nevermore to roam,
Open wide Thine arms of love, Lord, I’m coming home.

WEDNESDAY—REVIVAL PRAYING

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 13-16

Wednesday, September 2

2 Cor. 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
God of My Anointing:

No faith is genuine that does not carry the seal of the Holy Spirit. No love and no hope can save me, unless it is sealed by the Spirit of God. Faith that is unsealed is uncertain. It is a profession of salvation, not a possession of it.
So let me never be content until I am sealed and sure, through the inner witness and testimony of the Holy Ghost.
A sealing means preservation, Eph. 4:30. You seal me until Jesus returns – to fully redeem me by raising my body from the dead, and fully redeem the world by purging it from sin (Rom. 8:21-23), and fully renew all of life by making it a kingdom of your righteousness (Matt. 19:28). That fulfills the eternal purpose of God, as my soul is fit for your purpose in eternity!
Lord you know, that for me, sin is as easy as it is wicked. Help me not grieve the Holy Ghost who seals me. I grieve him by impure thoughts, when my heart goes after covetousness, when my mouth utters rudeness, and if I set myself on doing anything evil. But I want my thoughts to run after you, and not after sin.
I grieve you more if I indulge in outward acts of iniquity. Even if I forget prayer, neglect to read my Bible, do not seek to serve, and live merely for my family or myself and not for you – then the Holy Spirit is grieved. Ingratitude also grieves.
Oh, heavenly Dove, do not leave me to myself! This is why revival in the Bible tarries. You are grieved most by my unbelief. When I distrust your promises, given to be applied – when I doubt your power or affection, then the Spirit grieves.
Do not suspend your work! Do not leave me behind. Do not remove your presence. I can endure anything but the loss of your anointing. So let me know your accumulating, increasing power today, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
