Recently, I saw a post that asked Dr. Jordan Peterson to stop teaching the Bible until he is a believing member of a local church. I then wondered what it would look like to say that to many of those teaching the Bible in the "Preterist Movement".

My brethren, my fellow Preterists, Somewhere there is a local church, or perhaps you need to start one, that will bless your discipleship in Christ and/or will be blessed by your discipleship. Engage that church so that you are engaged in His work.

I see it all too clear that this dis-engagement with the church (might I say ‘hating the purpose’) works against what we are supposed to be pointing people to. Coupled that with the development of “know it all ism”, a lack of accountability, for many our efforts of teaching and preaching come off as detached from what we are pointing to, inconsistent, or worse yet, a con.
