Our Texas Treasure
By Marshall Gonzales, North Texas representative and stewardship coordinator, Texas Conference Planned Giving & Trust Services,

We had not had a family reunion in quite some time. There was always a problem with timing and getting everyone together. Then, while I was participating in a retreat one day at Lake Whitney Ranch, I thought, “Why not have a family reunion at Lake Whitney Ranch?” It was centrally located for everyone. I could rent one of the lodges, and its six bedrooms would provide plenty of space for the various members of my family. I reached out to everyone, and they all agreed that we should have a Thanksgiving family reunion at Lake Whitney Ranch.
As the old saying goes, a wonderful time was had by all. We played games, toured the ranch, relaxed by the lake and had a joyous time together. Some of my family members had never been to Lake Whitney Ranch. They were amazed at all that could be done there, from family reunions to camps for youth, Pathfinders, Adventurers and Master Guides, as well as the facilities available for churches to host retreats or training sessions.
None of this would be possible without your continued support for Lake Whitney Ranch. I know firsthand that it was a blessing to us, and that Lake Whitney Ranch is a blessing to others. It’s definitely “A Light in the Heart of Texas.”
This Sabbath’s offering is for Texas Vision, which supports Lake Whitney Ranch Development, worthy student funds for Texas Conference academy students and Texas Conference church building needs.
