The Battle for Your Soul is Real....
Doesn’t it sometimes seem that Christians face more problems—not less—because of our faith? We encounter opposition, endure hostility, and experience the kind of difficulties earlier generations called “trials and tribulations” and “afflictions and attacks of the devil.” Why is that?
It’s because we are not drifting across a tranquil pond in a fishing boat; we are stationed on a battleship in the middle of a war.
There is a battle going on for your soul.
The Bible says, “Our fight is not against any physical enemy: it is against organizations and powers that are spiritual. We are up against the unseen power that controls this dark world, and spiritual agents from the very headquarters of evil” (Ephesians 6:12, Phillips).
As I write these words and as you read them, weary soldiers are sheltering in trenches around the world. Combat pilots are sitting in cockpits. Drone operators are watching glowing screens in hidden command centers. Intelligence agencies are tracking threats most citizens never see. Parents are kneeling by their beds, praying for sons and daughters serving in dangerous places.
Yet another war is raging simultaneously—a spiritual conflict that doesn’t show up in the headlines but touches every one of us every single day. The battle for your soul. Dr. DAVID Jeremiah
