🌈 Happy Pride Month from Temple Sholom! 🌈

This June, we proudly celebrate the beauty, diversity, and strength of the LGBTQ+ community. Pride Month is a time to honor the courage of those who have fought for equality, to celebrate authentic self-expression, and to recommit ourselves to building a world where every person is welcomed, valued, and loved.

At Temple Sholom, we believe that every individual is created b’tzelem Elohim—in the image of God. Our community is enriched by the many identities, experiences, and stories that make up our congregation and our world.

As we celebrate Pride Month, we stand with our LGBTQ+ members, friends, families, and neighbors. We affirm that everyone deserves dignity, respect, belonging, and the freedom to live openly and authentically.

May this month inspire us to continue creating communities of inclusion, compassion, and justice for all.

As we pause this Memorial Day to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country, we hold their memories with gratitude and prayer.

Temple Sholom’s office will be closed today, Monday, in observance of the holiday. We will resume normal office hours tomorrow at 9:00 AM.

May the memories of the fallen forever be a blessing, and may we continue to work toward a world of peace, compassion, and understanding.

Wishing our community a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day.

Temple Sholom is thrilled to welcome Rabbi Edie Yakutis as our new Rabbi Educator!

A passionate teacher, community builder, and lifelong learner, Rabbi Yakutis brings a wealth of experience in Jewish education, pastoral care, leadership development, and relationship-building. Following a 23-year career with Microsoft, she answered the call to the rabbinate and was ordained in 2023 after studying at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion here in Cincinnati. Since then, she has served congregations, worked in chaplaincy and interfaith leadership, and guided rabbinical students through their final years of study.

Rabbi Yakutis has a deep love for helping people feel connected and inspired on their Jewish journey, and we are excited for the warmth, creativity, and energy she will bring to our Temple family. In her new role, she will oversee Sholom Yeladim while also taking on a wide range of educational, pastoral, and community responsibilities throughout Temple Sholom.

Outside of the Temple, Rabbi Yakutis enjoys reading, hiking, cycling, gardening, and spending time outdoors with her family and dogs. She and her spouse, Leo, have been married for nearly 30 years and are proud to call Cincinnati home.

Please join us in giving Rabbi Edie Yakutis a warm Temple Sholom welcome!
