Bloomington Reformed Presbyterian Church

Bloomington Reformed Presbyterian Church Witnessing for Christ in Bloomington since 1821 We are fully committed to the authority of the Holy Bible as God’s inerrant and infallible Word.

This means that we believe in the Triune God: Father, Son & Holy Spirit. We acknowledge our total inability to save ourselves and, in faith, depend on the Lord Jesus Christ alone as our Savior. We acknowledge Him as Covenant Lord in every area of life, and we vow together to advance His kingdom on earth. Our worship is simple and biblical, and is centered upon the preaching and application of the Word of God. For more information about us, visit http://www.bloomingtonrpchurch.org/

“One way of laying down our lives is by praying for somebody. In prayer I am saying, in effect, ‘my
life for yours.’ My time, my energy, my thought, my concern, my concentration, my faith—here they
are, for you. So it is that I participate in the work of Christ. So it is that no work of faith, no labor of
love, no smallest prayer is every lost…” -Elisabeth Elliot

Hello everyone,

It's good to be back from sabbatical and to minister to you again. I'm so thankful to the congregation for your generous kindness to me and to my family. It was refreshing to get the time off and enjoy more family time and be ministered too. Thank you.

I look forward to worshipping God with you for He has shown to us His loving kindness. In the AM service I will be preaching from Psalm 63 which will be our Psalm of the Month for September. We will be recognising new members - Isaac and Ashley Mozingo. In the evening we look forward to Pastor Ian Wise from Southside RPC preaching God's word to us.

Don't forget the services will be livestreamed so if you can't make the service or want to share it with others please use this link: https://www.youtube.com/Bloomington Reformed Presbyterian Church
See attached the bulletin and a variety of other notices - take the time to read through these.
One of the announcements mentions the church's 1-1 mentoring program. Here is the link to let us know you are interested in the program: Discipleship Program

Tomorrow morning during the Sunday school hour at 930am we will be hearing from Brogan Hagemeier and Nathan Dale who both were on the Northern Ireland mission team. Please come and find out more about the work of this team and consider going yourself on a mission team.

A reminder of the MealTrain for Lena - Meal Train for for Lena Dixson
The Mercy Committee are looking for someone who could offer Lena a ride to church on Sundays - please speak to John Pederson if you can do that. (Lena lives on the West side of Bloomington).
Also the Mercy Committee would like to form a team of folk who could pop in with Lena daily to do some cleaning/food prep/errands/and provide company. If this is something you would be interested in, please again speak to John Pederson.

That's a lot of information - it's definitely the start of a new term!
Let's not lose our focus from God.

Prepare for worship by reading the call to worship from Psalm 93:

The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty;
The Lord is clothed,
He has girded Himself with strength.
Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.
2 Your throne is established from of old;
You are from everlasting.
Let us come and worship God for Jesus Christ is the King, because he is firmly established we too are secure forevermore

God Bless!
Philip

Friends,

Here is the information for our services tomorrow. We look forward to joining together to worship God! Here are some things to note:

This is the final week of Pastor McCollum's sabbatical time. We are very much looking forward to having him back next week! In his absence, I will be preaching in the AM service, continuing our series on "7 Big Questions Your Life Depends On." Elder Ken de Jong will preach for us at the 6 pm service, on the work of the Holy Spirit. This should be a great complement to the sermon he preached a few weeks back on how the Spirit changes our hearts.

For the Sunday School hour, don't forget that tomorrow is Promotion Day when we thank all the teachers from the past year and introduce the new teachers and classes for the coming year. Please arrive in the sanctuary by 9:30AM to support the children and their teachers! Once the new classes are dismissed, children will attend their new classes, and Daniel Edgar will lead the adults through a session on congregational psalm singing to help us work on "making a joyful noise to the LORD."

Student meals following the morning service begin this week. These will continue throughout the term through 12/13 (except for 8/13 and 11/29). Students, please join us if you are able!

If you are providentially hindered from joining us in person, here is the link for the livestream: https://bloomingtonrpchurch.org/live-stream/

Let's ask the LORD to prepare our hearts to meet with Him!

Blessings,

Pastor Holdeman
