Episcopal Campus Ministry at IU

Episcopal Campus Ministry at IU Sunday Service: 4pm Our life together is marked by Sunday Mass at 4pm at Canterbury House (719 E 7th St - just across from Dunn Meadow and the IMU!).

Episcopal Campus Ministry at Indiana University is a nesting place for students, faculty, and staff to embrace and explore their spirituality in an accepting environment where inquiry is deemed a natural and healthy part of faith. After we are fed spiritually, we continue with a home-cooked meal and lively discussion over the dinner table. Tuesdays feature social time, a meal and usually some sort

of educational component. Doors open at 6p. You can drop in just for the meal, dining in or taking it to go. Ask RevEd (one word, two syllables) about the Fall Break Student Retreat: [email protected]

Dear friends of the Canterbury House at IU Bloomington,

We are sad to share the news that the Rev. Dr. Linda Johnson, our former chaplain and priest, passed away on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026.

The Rev. Mary Taflinger, Missioner for Pastoral Care for the Diocese of Indianapolis, writes: "The Rev. Linda's wife, the Rev. Dr. Sue Carter, said that a decline in Linda's+ health resulted in her entering hospice care just a few days prior to her death. Funeral arrangements are pending. We give thanks for Linda's ministry and pray for the repose of her soul and the comfort of her wife, Sue, and for all who loved her."

"O God, who by the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ destroyed death, and brought life and immortality to light: Grant that your servant Linda, being raised with him, may know the strength of his presence, and rejoice in his eternal glory; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen."

"Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding: Deal graciously with Sue and Linda's family in their grief. Surround them with your love, that they may not be overwhelmed by their loss, but have confidence in your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

"May Linda rest in peace and rise in glory!"

No one will ever be required to prepare anything in advance or have any prior Biblical knowledge in order to attend and participate!

All are welcome to attend! A meal will always be served at each Canterbury Tuesday. Regardless of whether or not you are looking to participate in an event, please feel free to stop by and either eat on-site or pick up food "to go" at any time. If you are ever planning to do so, however, please let Father Ed know ahead of time via phone (812.822.1335) or email ([email protected]), if possible, so that we can ensure that there will be enough food for everyone.
