It’s a celebration!
Ten years ago today, I arrived in Minnesota to receive my commissioning as St. Michael’s Lutheran Church’s official LCC K-9 Comfort Dog—or, as I like to think of myself, the “official ambassador of comfort.”

Over the last ten years, my team and I have been some places, we’ve seen some things, and most importantly, we have been blessed with countless opportunities to offer comfort, care, compassion, and prayer to those in need.
We’ve walked hospital hallways, hospice rooms, schools, senior communities, churches, community events, and places touched by unimaginable tragedy.
We’ve celebrated joyful moments and quietly sat beside people during some of their hardest ones. Sometimes there have been words and prayers; other times, simply being present has said everything that needed to be said.

Ten years. Thousands of visits. Countless hugs, smiles, tears, prayers, and new friends along the way. And through every single one, the mission has remained the same: to share the mercy, compassion, presence, and proclamation of Jesus Christ with those who are suffering and in need.

Of course, none of this happens without my incredible team—the people who hold my leash, get up before dawn to drive the miles, arrange the visits, pray with those we meet, and make sure I am well cared for and ready to do the work I was called to do.

Today belongs to all of us. What an amazing ten years it has been—and what a privilege it continues to be to simply show up, lean in, and remind people that they are loved and they are not alone.

Here’s to 10 years and counting of Comfort & Care… and to wherever God leads us next!

Wow--thank you, St. Michael's, for donating approx. 250 pairs of new socks for Good in the 'Hood's SoleCare for Souls program! That means about 250 people in the Twin Cities will get a new pair of socks after getting much needed foot care, a listening ear, and prayer. (It's not too late to donate...we'll have the basket out in the lobby through Sunday.)

Let's get outside and worship God in His beautiful creation! Join us this Sunday, June 14, at 10 am at the Normandale Lake Bandshell. Bring a lawnchair or blanket. Lunch will be provided by Holy Emmanuel Lutheran Church after the service. Parking available on Chalet Road, right off 84th street, and take the walking path to the bandshell. If you need assistance, there will be golf cart shuttles available. Hope to see you on Sunday!
