“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!”

Psalm 133 invites us to stop and behold something beautiful: God’s people dwelling together in unity.

“It’s like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the Mountains of Zion!”

Unity is not something we manufacture. It is a gift God establishes among His people, and we are called to guard and maintain in together.

My God is unifying. His presence produce unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials, and charity in all things.

This Sunday at Emmanuel, we explored Psalm 133 and reflected on a beautiful truth: My God is unifying. His presence and provision produce unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials, and charity in all things.

Psalm 133 invites us to behold the goodness and pleasantness of God’s people dwelling together in unity. This unity is not built on everyone looking the same, thinking the same, or agreeing on every preference.

True unity flows from the shared life we have in Christ. The sermon reminded us that unity is not something we manufacture for ourselves. It is a gift that flows down from God’s presence and provision, like oil running down Aaron’s beard and dew descending on dry mountains.

God establishes unity among His people, and we are called to guard and maintain it together. Where other organizations may unite around a common passion, the church is united around a common Person: Jesus Christ.

Psalm 133 also reminds us that unity is rooted in truth. In essentials, we stand together. In non-essentials, we extend liberty to one another. And in all things, we are called to show love. As we seek after God together, He continues providing the unity we need.

In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In all things, charity.

Psalm 133 reminds us that true unity is not the same thing as uniformity. God's people were never meant to look exactly alike in every preference, background, or opinion. True Unity flows from our shared faith in Jesus Christ.

"Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!" Psalm 133:1

As followers of Christ, we stand together in the essential truths of the faith. In non-essential matters, we extend grace toward one another, and in all things, we are called to love one another well.

“The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.” Psalm 121:7-8

Psalm 121 gives us a deep assurance in the middle of a broken world. God’s care reaches into every part of life, including the places where we carry fear, grief, uncertainty, and sorrow.

The promise of being kept by the Lord reminds us that no hardship, enemy, or circumstance can separate God’s people from His love. His presence remains steady through every season of life.

Paul echoes this same hope in Romans 8:38-39. Nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God continues to provide shade along the journey. Glimpses of grace, strength for today, and peace in moments where life feels overwhelming.

Your life rests in the hands of a faithful Keeper who continues watching over you in all circumstances.

This Sunday at Emmanuel, we explored Psalm 121 and reflected on a comforting truth:

God is my helper. He is all-powerful and ever-watchful in His care for me.

Psalm 121 reminds us that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Nothing in the universe stands outside of His authority because nothing in the universe stands outside of His handiwork.

God did not create us and then leave us to figure life out on our own. The God who created us is also the God who cares for us. He does not sleep or slumber; he watches over His people with faithful attention and care.

Being kept by God does not mean we are spared from every hardship. Life still carries grief, uncertainty, and suffering. Even there, God provides shade along the journey. He gives glimpses of grace that remind us He is near and continuing to sustain us.

No power, enemy, circumstance, or sorrow can separate God’s people from His love. Our lives are held securely by our faithful Keeper who continues watching over us.

Where does your help come from?

Psalm 121 begins with a question every one of us eventually asks. In seasons where life feels heavy, uncertain, or beyond our control, our eyes naturally search for something steady to hold onto.

“My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2

Nothing in creation stands outside of God’s authority because nothing stands outside of His handiwork. The same God who formed the mountains is still present in the middle of your ordinary life today.

God did not create you and walk away. He continues to care for you with constant attention and perfect wisdom. He sees the burdens you carry, the conversations weighing on your heart, and the moments where you feel exhausted from trying to hold everything together.

You are doing better than you think, and your life is held by a God whose care for you never runs dry.
