There are moments when life feels heavy, lonely, or dark. Maybe your student has wondered if God is still with them, or if they've messed up too much for Him to want anything to do with them anymore. Psalm 139 reminds us of two powerful truths: We are never alone, and we are not too far gone.
Two things for your student to consider as you take in these truths:
1️⃣ Stop letting your feelings determine your knowledge of God's presence. Trust what He has promised: "Surely I am with you always." (Matthew 28:20)
2️⃣ Whether you've felt distant from God or you want to be equipped by God, take one step toward Him today. Spend time in prayer, open your Bible, or talk with a leader about what's been going on. The Word says that when we draw near to God, He draws near to us. (James 4:8)
Whether they're walking through an amazing season or a difficult one, God is with them. His grace reaches deeper than your darkest moments, and His presence goes wherever they go. Encorage them to come near to Him this week!
Parents, heres some questions you can use to engage in a conversation with your students:
1. Was there a time recently when you felt alone, stressed, or overwhelmed? How does knowing that God is always with you always change the way you view those situations?
2. Which part of Psalm 139:7-12 stood out to you the most, and why?
