There’s something humbling about kneeling down to hand someone a warm meal and looking them in the eye instead of walking past. Every person struggling with homelessness has a story, and so often what they need most isn’t just food or shelter — it’s to be seen.
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.” — Proverbs 19:17
This past week, our team spent time serving meals and just sitting with folks, listening. It’s a reminder that we’re all one hard turn away from needing help ourselves, and that small acts of kindness ripple further than we think.
