Just realized I forgot to post the last two days. New habits are hard to start. Anyways, here is a second devotional as a follow up to this last Sunday's message. I hope this serves as a way to revisit the sermon and take a few minutes to apply its principles to your daily life. Enjoy...and Have a GREAT Day!!

Day 2: Repent and Believe
Reading: Mark 1:14-15

Devotional: "The time has come. The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!" Jesus' message wasn't primarily about escaping hell or securing a ticket to heaven—it was announcing the arrival of God's kingdom breaking into our world. Repentance means changing our mind after careful consideration, allowing truth to reshape how we see ourselves and the world. It's not just feeling sorry; it's a fundamental shift in perspective that leads to transformation. What areas of your life need this kind of repentance today? Perhaps you've been building your own little kingdom—your preferences, your plans, your version of happiness—while keeping Jesus at arm's length. The invitation stands: surrender your throne. Trust that what God wants for you is your deepest happiness, even when it looks different from what you imagined.

I want to try something new this week. I have some daily devotionals pulled from the sermon this last Sunday. My hope is to give you a short reflection each day that will help all of us continue to process the message from Sunday all week. If we do this in humble submission before the Lord, I believe it will help us to retain the Word of God and apply it to our lives more effectively. Each devotion should take just a few minutes. Here is the one for today:

The King Who Can Be Trusted
Reading: Matthew 6:9-13

Devotional: When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, He began with "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name." This isn't merely religious language—it's an invitation to recognize God's complete otherness, His holiness that sets Him apart from every earthly ruler. Unlike corrupt leaders who enrich themselves at others' expense, Jesus is the King who laid down His life for His people. His kingdom doesn't operate on the principles of worldly power but on sacrificial love. Today, consider what it means to hallow God's name in your life. Are there areas where you've placed Him on the same level as worldly authorities? Pause and acknowledge His supreme worthiness. When we truly see God as holy—altogether separate and sacred—we find confidence that He alone deserves the throne of our hearts.

If you missed the sermon on Sunday, you can watch it at the link below. This devotional thought corresponds to the portion of the message that starts at about 21:00.
