While cleaning up the cemetery today, we found a beautiful pink saddle that had blown off a monument. If it belongs on your loved one’s grave, please pick it up in the shelter house.

We will be cleaning up the cemetery grounds the morning of Saturday, July 12. If you have flowers or shepherd hooks on the ground, please remove them before then. If they remain on the ground, they will be disposed of. If there are flowers on the monument in vases or on a saddle, these will not be removed.

The officers of Carmichael Cemetery are grateful to all who so generously donated toward the upkeep of the cemetery over the Memorial Day weekend and throughout the year. We appreciate your support and encouraging comments about the cemetery.

We extend a special thanks to the Solsberry American Legion for honoring our deceased Veterans on Sunday. This is always a moving ceremony as we remember the lives of those who served in the United States Armed Forces.

Thanks to Bryan Davis, Tim, Case and Judson Davis, Tracy Fields, Debra and Danny Martindale, Hanna Cunningham, and Bill and Reba Butler for placing flags on Veteran graves.

Thanks to Mick Jackson and his crew who do a great job mowing and trimming.

We appreciate our Trustees, Bryan Davis, Danny Martindale and Tracy Fields, who look after the cemetery and its needs continually. We received many comments about how nice the cemetery looks.

Thanks to Danny and Debbie Martindale, Norine and Jim Bunch, Bill and Reba Butler, Brad Mann, Mike Mosier, Tracy Fields, and Bryan and Tim Davis, who were our greeters over the weekend.

To make mowing easier, all shepherd’s hooks, decorations, and flowers not attached to gravestones must be removed by Friday, June 20th . Workers will remove those that remain after that date.

Thank You.

Reba Butler, President

She was a dedicated member of her community, volunteering for various non-profit organizations. Bonita had a passion for Bible studies, drawing, painting, crocheting, and writing, which brought joy not only to her but also to those around her.
Bonita was the loving mother of a large family. She is survived by her children: Don, Monty, and Tom; daughters-in-law: Kris and Robbin; bonus son: Wayne Botkins; friend: Tuesday Adkins Brinson; and sister-in-law: Wilma Livingston. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Carly Carter (Dustin), Dylan Porter (Michelle), Tyler Porter (Jakki), Dalton Porter (Elisha), Lacey Porter (Zack), Ashley Buis (Shawn), Jon Porter, Gary Roberts, and Victor Roberts, along with twenty great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Clifford Earl Porter, her son Ronald Earl Porter; her brothers Wallace and Derrell Carmichael; and sister-in-law Lois Carmichael.
A service to celebrate Bonita’s life will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 1:00PM at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory 4155 South Old St Rd 37. Visitation will also be held Sunday from 12:00PM until the time of the service at 1:00PM.
