Back in 2013 I felt God calling me to pastor a church. The quote from Dr. Seuss kept coming up, sometimes in very odd ways.
“Oh, the places you’ll go”. Right before being called to Brookdale Reformed Church, someone gave me a box of books and in it was Dr. Seuss. I read it numerous times and I have to say…..
And since I came to Brookdale Reformed in 2014, I can say…..”What a long and sometimes strange trip it's been!”

While I am leaving on June 30th, I know that God has a new plan for Brookdale Reformed and for me - meaning that it’s time to close the chapter of this book.

I've met, worked, ministered to, and did ministry with some wonderful people along the way, made some lifelong friends- memories I'll cherish forever.

For the 1st several months, I’ll be gardening, hiking and relaxing- maybe even reintroducing myself to old forgotten hobbies, but who knows what God has up God’s sleeve!

Although I’ll be gone, those at Brookdale Reformed Church are wonderful and welcoming people. The person filling in for a few months is awesome so I hope that you will experience BRC in person.

Memorial Day is a day set aside so that we remember, give thanks, and honor all of the men and women who have given their lives while serving our country.
But it is also a day that we need to embrace their families who have and still endure heartache and challenges in their lives.

Heavenly Father, we would like to lift up and remember all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy every day and we ask that you please console those who mourn the loss of loved ones praying that your peace, provision, and strength fill their lives.
We give thanks to you, O God, for the blessings you have shown and continue to show the people of our great nation. We give thanks to the people who feel the call to serve our nation and ask that you please hold our servicemen and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your mighty arms so that they will come home safely.
Lord, we affirm that we are ONE nation under you and we seek your hand to guide us. We ask that your wisdom be heard by all our government and military leaders so that right decisions are made.
Most of all, we pray that a passion for peace is stirred in the hearts of all those who lead our country and other nations or groups around the world. Help all people realize that violence will never accomplish anything except heartache and destruction. God, please hear our prayers. Amen
