For the vigil of the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Archbishop Christopher Coyne celebrated a Mass of Dedication of a New Altar at Holy Cross Church in New Britain.

"We welcome Archbishop Christopher Coyne to our parish today as he dedicates our new Altar of Sacrifice. We are certainly grateful to Archbishop Christopher for his presence and for his prayers. The dedication of our new altar marks the beginning of our celebration as we look toward the 100th anniversary of the establishment of our parish. The altar, which features a beautiful relief of the Last Supper on its front, was created by Vasyl Bronetskyy, a local artisan and an employee of our parish. As this centennial year unfolds, we look forward to a variety of events culminating next October with a 100th Anniversary Celebration Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Christopher Coyne, followed by a banquet in November 2027, marking the actual anniversary of the establishment of our parish."

The annual Lourdes in a Day Pilgrimage of the Sick sponsored by the Order of Malta - Connecticut North East Area took place today at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation was made available early with the help of seventeen priests. After allowing participants to mildly dip themselves in water from Lourdes, they prayed the Rosary. It was wonderful time spent preparing for the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. Lunch followed, after which there was time for Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction. It truly was "a day of grace and healing."

Archbishop Christopher Coyne was the principal celebrant of the Mass. Principal concelebrants were Bishop Richard Reidy, of the Diocese of Norwich, and Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus Peter Rosazza. Several other priests of the Archdiocese of Hartford concelebrated, including Monsignor James Shanley and Father John Melnick.

Archbishop Christopher Coyne offered a Memorial Mass on this 25th Anniversary of 9.11 at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford. He was joined by Bishop Juan Miguel Betancourt, SEMV, and several priests who serve in the Archdiocese of Hartford.

Archbishop Christopher Coyne offered the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass today at Saint Mary Magdelen Church for the students, faculty, and staff of Holy Disciples Catholic School in Watertown/Oakville. He then joined them for lunch. Father Glen Dmytryszyn concelebrated the Mass, and Deacon Michael Malfitano assisted.

What an inspiring evening filled with enthusiasm and joy at the Annual Archbishop's Appeal Circle of Charity Dinner held at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville. During the evening, Archbishop Christopher Coyne and Reverend Jeffrey Romans presented checks on behalf of the donors to Renée Santos of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph Food Pantry, Gary Steck of Wellmore Behavioral Health in Waterbury, Tom Porell of House of Bread in Hartford, and MJ Higgins of the Meriden Soup Kitchen. Those in attendance were inspired by the heartfelt remarks from MJ Higgins about the profound impact donor support and about the effect that their generosity has in the lives of individuals and families facing hardship. These organizations are just a few that will be receiving support this year through the Appeal's Vicariate Outreach Program, helping to serve those most in need throughout our communities.
