We are still here. Where have you been ?
Easter is a profound season for reflection. As we consider the sacrifice made at Calvary and the victory of the empty tomb, it is only natural to look inward and evaluate our own walk with the Lord.
Here are a few thoughts and scriptures from the King James Version to help guide that personal inventory:
The Debt of Love
When we realize the price that was paid for our redemption, it should stir a desire to live intentionally for Him.
"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." — 1 Corinthians 6:20
Gathering Together
It is easy to let the busyness of life pull us away from the fellowship of the church. However, being among other believers is where we are sharpened and taught.
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." — Hebrews 10:25
Seeking His Wisdom
Learning of Him requires a commitment to His Word. If the Bible has been sitting on the shelf, today is the perfect day to open it again.
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." — 2 Timothy 2:15
A Life of Prayer
Prayer is our direct line of communication with the One who gave everything for us. It isn't just for emergencies; it's for a constant relationship.
"Pray without ceasing." — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
The Turning Point
If you find that your prayer life has cooled or your seat in the pew has been empty, the good news of Easter is that it's never too late for a new beginning. We serve a God of restoration. This season, let’s move beyond just remembering what He did and start living out our gratitude through our actions.
