We know have a name for our middle school youth group! The name reflects our purpose statement as we help kids grow. Check out the flyer in the picture to learn about our new name and purpose....and as always, don't forget to encourage any middle school kids to join us!

This week, we started talking about who God is to us and examined some of the misconceptions we may have. Next week, we will start looking at some of the names of God as He has revealed Himself in the Bible.

Our memory verse for the week: "Know that the Lord is God" Psalm 100:3a

Don't forget: 5-8th grade youth group will meet tomorrow after school! We will be starting a new series on the Character of God. We will be talking about our perceptions of God, investigating God's character, learning about who He really is, and starting to see how He works in our lives every day!

If you haven't filled out a registration form for your kids to attend (or maybe haven't even gotten one from your kids) don't worry! Send a note with them to school tomorrow that they are to ride the bus to the Bville Park for FCC youth group. We will send home another registration form with them.

If your kids aren't sure if they want to attend, but want to "check it out" to see what our Youth Group is about, send them on over. We would love to have them visit us.

Just remember, pick up time for ALL kids that attend is 5:30 pm. Hope to see you there!!

We had a total of 4 kids for our first Middle School Youth Group meeting last Monday. Let's see if we can't at least double (hopefully triple) that number for the next time we meet.

Since there is no school on Monday, February, 16, the next meeting will be held Monday, February 23. If your middle school student would like to attend and you don't have a registration form, or are worried because you missed the deadline to turn the forms in, it's okay! Send a note with your student on the 23rd that he/she will ride the bus to the Blandinsville Park in order to attend the FCC Youth Group. If you have a registration form, fill it out and send it to us on the 23rd. If you don't have a registration form, we will send a new registration form home with your student - fill it out and send it back for the next meeting!

Meetings start at 4:00 pm and are over at 5:30 pm. All 5-8 graders are welcome to attend, but don't forget to pick your student up promptly at 5:30.

We look forward to seeing your students join us for a chance to learn about the Character of God, enjoy a snack, and participate in activities and worship time.

Spread the word: We will be having our first middle school Youth Group meeting on Monday, February 9th at 4:00 pm at FCC. We will have a snack, a bible lesson, and a time of praise and worship and conclude our meetings by 5:30 pm each Monday. The school has agreed to help with transportation for all kids living outside of Bville who would like to attend.

We are aware there have been some issues getting registration forms to students and their parents. If you have a child in the 5-8 grades who would like to attend, please send a signed note with them to school on Monday, indicating they will be riding the bus to the Blandinsville Park in order to attend the FCC youth group. Please note, parents are responsible for picking their children up or arranging transportation home, and we ask that all students who attend are picked up at 5:30.

We will send registration forms home with all who attend. Also, you may contact Gordon Blankenship or Heather Thrapp for more information or to have a registration form emailed directly top you.

If you have already received a registration form, please disregard the return deadline mentioned in the letter. Also, at this time, we would prefer to have all registration forms turned into the FCC youth group leaders, rather than the WPMS Office as the letter indicated. Simply fill out the registration form and send it with your child to the first meeting.

If you do not have a child in middle school, but know someone who does, please share this message so we can get the word out! Thank you all for your help with this new program for the youth in our community.

Prayer List for November 23, 2014In faith, we bring our prayer requests to the Lord, just as Jeremiah did when he prayed, saying "heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise" (Jeremiah 17:14). We bring those in our lives who are sick, in need of healing, hope, and salvation to the Lord. With faith and praise, we turn our loved ones over to Jehovah Rapha, our God, our Healer.Nancy ThrappBrian LoritzenBarabara BeanLois LutonJustin BeerChrissy Campbell-SimpsonCassie & Chris Shelley (Clara)Roberta HansonMary Lou WeverRuthie HilliarSara SpeerShirley TraceyRachael FowlerMurray Allan & FamilyBrad MelvinEmily JordanKris PolleyMeghan DildineDianna LovittTreasa PursleyKim GiralimoEmily DoughertyRon & Kelly HarveyRandy StoneMark ScottNancy BuckholtzRoger HobbyNola BakerVirginia KerfootJanet GregoryGlenadine StoneThelma FigAnnette TuckerRusty CoatesBreanna PursellJeff KurtzAlso, please be in prayer for our country's leaders, service men & women, nursing home residents and those who are shut in, as well as our missions and the Lamoine Christian Service Camp.

Prayer List: November 2, 2014"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard you hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." -Phillipians 4:6-7Paul says it so simply, so eloquently. Instead of worrying about what we have no control over, we are called to bring everything - smallest request, to our God - with praise. And, when we allow our hearts and minds to focus on the Lord, by praising Him and telling Him of our requests, our hearts will be quieted. Whether He answers the requests in the way we would prefer or not, the simple act of focusing our thoughts on Him, brings a peace to our lives that "transcends all understanding".Brian LoritzenBarbara BeanNeal Null & FamilyLois LutonJustin BeerChrissy Campbell-SimpsonCassie & Chris Shelley (Clara)Michelle DriskellRoberta HansonMarta LoganMary Lou WeverRuthie HilliarSara SpeerLyle Oliver Shirley TraceyBrad MelvinEmily JordanKris PolleyLindy SnyderMeghan DildineDianna LovittTreasa PursleyKim GiralimoMurry AllenEmily DoughertyRon & Kelly HarveyRandy StoneMark ScottDean & Phyllis CookNancy BuckholtzRaymond OliverMaxine AllamanRoger HobbyNola BakerVirginia KerfootJanet GregoryMatt GrottRon MagnussonGlenadine StoneThelma FigJoann BedwellAnnette TuckerRusty CoatesBreanna PursellJonathan McSperrittJeff KurtzAlso, please be praying for our missions, Lamoine Christian Service Camp, and our nursing home residents/shut ins.

Check out this video of the Casting Crowns Song "Here I Go Again". This song is about a man's prayer to the Father as he struggles to find the words to share the Love of God with one of his friends....a struggle that many of us face on a regular basis. As you listen to the words, meditate upon them. Is there someone in your life whom you have been letting down by not speaking the Truth of God's Love into their lives? Do you need to be on your knees, praying for the words and courage to share the love of Him who saves us all? Don't wait. Go to the Father.

As we are gearing up for 5-8th grade youth group event to take place this Friday Night, exciting events have taken place to make the kids more comfortable while watching a movie. A new projector and screen have been placed in the space between our Sunday School Classrooms and our sanctuary so that the kids can sprawl out and comfortably watch the Goonies while enjoying snacks and drinks! If your kids are planning on coming, send them with a blanket and/or pillow so they can be cozy and comfortable.

Little Twisters is a combined effort of area churches to involve our local youth in grades kindergarten through fourth, in an after school event where they have the chance to fellowship with our students in their class outside of school and learn about God. Every Wednesday, these kids walk from the Good Hope Elementary School to the Good Hope United Methodist Church, where they enjoy snacks, sing a few songs, play a game, and hear and discuss some bible verses. Many wonderful women are hard at work putting this outreach program together. Last night was Wednesday Night, and Kara Hunt, Dawn Torrance, Sandy Welsh, as well as many others were hard at work preparing for and teaching these young children.

If you would like more information about the Little Twisters Program, are interested in sending your child to participate or want to volunteer to help or just make snacks, please let us know!

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks to you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
