As Friday arrives and the weekend approaches, our hearts should already begin turning toward the Lord’s Day. Sunday worship is not something we casually squeeze into our schedule, but a sacred appointment with God and His people. Just as Israel prepared themselves before meeting with God, we too should prepare our hearts through prayer, confession, gratitude, and expectation.
Use Friday to begin laying aside distractions, praying for your pastor, teachers, choir, and church family, and asking God to make your heart tender to His Word. When we prepare before Sunday arrives, worship becomes more than a routine—it becomes a joyful encounter with the presence of God. “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord” (Psalm 122:1).
