Sermon Recap: “The Kingdom of Christ” (Luke 1:26–33)

This morning we explored what the Bible says about the Kingdom of Christ—a kingdom foretold in prophecy, fulfilled in Jesus, and available to us today. We were reminded that Christ’s kingdom is not of this world, but it is real, spiritual, superior, and eternal.

Key points included:
• Jesus announced the kingdom was near.
• He preached the good news of the kingdom.
• He identified the church as His kingdom.
• His kingdom is not material, but spiritual and everlasting.
• It was established on Pentecost and is here now—not something to wait for.
• We are called to seek it first and make it our life’s priority.

Let us answer God’s call to His kingdom today—believe, repent, confess, and be baptized into the body of Christ.

The Transforming Power of Christ's Teachings

Are you really living your faith? 🤔 This week's sermon challenged us to look beyond just calling ourselves Christians and examine if our actions truly reflect Jesus's teachings. We explored the obstacles – tradition, family pressure, and nationalism – that can hinder our commitment to Christ. 🚧

We were called to a radical transformation, like the disciples who immediately followed Jesus. 🚶‍♂️➡️🚶‍♀️ The Beatitudes, love, forgiveness, faith, and service aren't just words; they're the core of a transformed life. ❤️🙏

Are you just "window dressing" your Christianity? Or are you digging deep, building your foundation on the rock of Christ? 🧱 Let's move beyond words and live out our faith with genuine transformation!

Sunday’s Sermon Recap: “Christians and Religious Tolerance” (1 Timothy 1:18-20)

Today, we explored the topic of religious tolerance and what the Bible teaches about standing firm in truth. We discussed how tolerance, as the world defines it, often includes acceptance and endorsement of sin, but Christ did not tolerate sin—He openly challenged it (John 2:13-17, Matthew 15:7-14).

We examined how Christians must not compromise with error, as false teachings have misled many throughout history (Galatians 1:6-12, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10). Instead, we are called to let our light shine, speak the truth in love, and engage in honorable Bible study and discussion (Matthew 5:14-16, Ephesians 4:15).

The message concluded with a reminder to be patient and remain faithful, as victory is assured for those who endure in Christ (Revelation 2:10). Let’s continue to stand firm in faith and share the gospel boldly!

✨ What does it mean to be a citizen of the Messiah’s Kingdom? ✨

In Matthew 5:1-16, Jesus lays out the attitudes and blessings of those who belong to His kingdom—the Beatitudes. True happiness isn’t found in what we have but in who we are in Christ!

As believers, we are called to be:
🙏 Humble & meek – Yielding to God’s will
💙 Merciful & pure in heart – Showing compassion and integrity
✌️ Peacemakers – Promoting unity and reconciliation
🔥 Salt & Light – Influencing the world with God’s truth

No matter the challenges we face, our ultimate citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20). Let’s live with purpose, reflecting the love of Christ in all we do!

Do Not Imitate Evil (3 John 9-12)
A sermon by Walt Davis

God created the world as “very good” (Genesis 1:31), yet mankind often chooses to imitate evil, as seen from Noah’s time (Genesis 6:1-7) to today. Why? Satan tempts us with sinful desires (1 Peter 2:11-12), corrupt behaviors like lasciviousness and false worship (Ephesians 4:29; 2 Peter 2:1-3), and the belief that “everyone’s doing it” (Romans 12:2).

But God gives us a choice. He longs for everyone to repent (2 Peter 3:9) and promises eternal life to those who obey Him (John 8:51). Choose to do good, for “he who does good is of God” (3 John 11).

Are you ready for judgment day? Turn to God today, stay faithful, and receive your crown!

What Legacy Will You Leave?
(Sermon by Walt Davis – January 19, 2025)

On Sunday, Brother Walt Davis delivered an inspiring message on the legacy we leave behind, grounded in Philippians 3:13-16. Reflecting on the life of a dedicated servant of Christ, Scott Tope, the sermon encouraged us to consider how our lives will glorify God and serve others.

Brother Davis highlighted the examples of Stephen (Acts 7:51-60) and the apostle Paul (Acts 20:17-24, 36-38), emphasizing faithfulness in the face of trials and the eternal reward promised to those who love the Lord (2 Timothy 4:8). Through perseverance, humility, and service, we are called to leave a legacy that points others to Christ.

The sermon concluded with a heartfelt call to reflect on Titus 2:11-14, reminding us that God's grace teaches us to live righteously as we await Christ's return. Are you walking in the pathway of duty? Will your life testify to your faith in Jesus?

Learn more about God’s plan of salvation and how you can leave a lasting, Christ-centered legacy. Join us this Sunday or contact us for Bible studies!
